1) First of all, there are already Droideka model with other versions, and there's a NPC of it as a vehicle but not as a normal NPC.
2) Like NerdmanReturns said, you have to turn off dismemberment probabilities to make it work.

The default Steam path of the GameData folder should be like this : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon . So if you don't have already a file called "addon" then create it, and then put the file with 3 letters in the addon folder, otherwise, ingame, you won't be able to play to the mod at all, So yeah, that's it.

Maybe, it will come around november or december before The Last Jedi will come out.
