64. Not sure where anyone ever got 22 from. We recommend 32 for most maps, but will support up to 64 players on the larger maps.

Tibberius - - 52 comments @ Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Kickstarter + Gamescom and a new Website

$50,000 is actually a relatively low target for Kickstarter and I hope to clear up some of your confusion and concerns on the other items.

Firstly, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare will not launch as a UDK title, we are purchasing the full Unreal 3 Engine Licence and the KS funds are a big aid in that. Also in terms of marketing that kind of money is very, very small and goes nowhere near as far as you might expect.

You make valid points about some of the tiers from a logical standpoint and if that is your take on it then yes they are worse options than the other tiers. Maybe we could have split the tiers and pledge amounts a little bit better, but we were simply trying to provide options for people who wished to donate in those amounts.

If you want incentives rather than to aid the developers further that is great and the $25 and $75 options are designed for that purpose.

We chose the price of the game very carefully, keeping in mind the value we felt the game represented and our comparable competitors planned prices. It is up to you if you feel the game is worth that price and will always be your decision.

We've updated our FAQ on the KS page to try and address some of your other issues more clearly. Thanks for your thoughts and I hope this helps clarify our intentions.

No, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a standalone commercial product and requires a purchase to play. Regarding preorders and betas for some of the other questions that are being asked, yes both of these will be available and we are just finalizing our plans for these things now so keep an eye out for news on these topics in the next few months.

It is a sequel, we opted to leave out the "2" because the first one was a mod, but in terms of scope, features, effort and development cycle it is a full on sequel with a much higher production value.

Bit confused by what you are asking, but yes you can cut off arms and legs as well as the head this time around. There are many new game modes as well as the classic "Team Objective" that was in Age of Chivalry. Notable new game modes include: Free for All (it gets messy! :) ), King of the Hill, Team Deathmatch and Last team standing (Elimination style rounds).

Thats correct, since we're drawing traces from one position to another it doesn't matter if the player pivots or the animation is fast. The line will be drawn from where the weapon was on the previous tick to where it is on the current tick everytime. This is much more accurate than a single positon per tick method as it eliminates the player pivoting issue.

There will be some single-player and offline elements to the game, but not a full blown single-player campaign. Our team is too small to focus on both and we want to stick with what we know first. We'd love to try our hand at a more elaborate single-player experience in the future.

Tibberius - - 52 comments @ You're not the only one excited about Decapitations

The intent of this post was to show a glitch that the team thought was funny. If you look at the position of where that spike is, and tie in the subtle title... you might get the joke :).

The gore is disappointing at the moment, after all how can you claim to have a medieval battlefield without showing decapitation, bone deep injuries and battered, blood smothered warriors? Well, looks like we've got some work to do. Keep an eye out for our gore updates in the future :).

The jump scene at the end was exaggerated for slow motion effect, you will be able to sprint attack on your opponents but we'll reel the height in some as we've had some feedback that it looked a bit much for plate armour.

Don't worry, we're not that stupid. Decapitation will absolutely be in the game and will get a full media feature later on in development.

Thats likely because for this teaser we just threw together a bunch of bots in an area and slashed away to show how hectic the combat can be. While fighting I was not attempting to kill my opponents, only create quick exchanges for display.

Yet another reason to choose the UDK for your project. We did for the new Chivalry game and have never looked back.
