the exe seems to be a zip file. open it as a zip file & then extract the installer, then it will work.

Seems to. Unzip to your Postal 2 directory. The new postal2coop.exe is in the system folder.

No, each frame has it's own center. I believe modern Q2 clients let you change the location of the vwep's, but 3rd person would need to be modified in something like blender. You COULD do it in QME but you'd have to do it each frame.

TheHappyFriar @ SPONSORED: Up Your Game with the G810 Mechanical Keyboard

I've read that you can put the older mechanical ones in the dishwasher. I haven't tried it yet. Never heard anything about newer mechanical ones. I haven't cleaned this one since I bought it 7 years ago. I love going to LAN's and hearing people behind me say "Man, what an old piece of junk." :)

I've got a "old" mechanical KB and I love it. I know some PC gamers who have the newer ones, but I still like the old IBM style KB's. Go figure. :)

To me, mechanical is the only way to go.

I'd say option 2 but Desura didn't work out as everyone expected, so I see no reason to go that way again right now.

Anything that supports the developer is great imho. :)

You can, I use Blender & Gimp however. I make my skin in Blender/Gimp, then export as a PCX with the Q2 pallet, import in to q2modeler, setup the skin & re-save the model.

I don't get everything listed for the game, and it seems no matter which resource file I load up it always lists the same content (for mp/sp/snapmap resource files).

TheHappyFriar @ Doom 4 Multiplayer Beta Preview - Worthaplay?

Everyone always chooses the rocket launcher. It's an awesome gun. :) In every id game people flock to the RL. In Doom, Quake & Q2 the Shotty + RL were the mainstay of every MP match. I've got no issue with that.

I feel the same way as you do. To be fair to the new Doom, it's playing off the Q3A formula, which stripped a lot of id's uniqueness out of the gameplay vs Doom/Q/Q2.

I had no issue with the weapons individually, but I agree the load outs weren't very fun to play with, you're stuck with the loadouts you put together once the game started. That's where the RL + Shotty get annoying: you can't go to a different gun once you choose your loadout. So people chose, for the most part, two general purpose weapons.

EDIT: DNF did this much better imho: you have two guns but you can swap them for any gun in the map or any gun a player drops during gameplay

I'd say have an option for weapons scattered around the map & loadouts.

In game text chat didn't work, so no communication. :(

Teams could of been smaller. When I played with less people (3 per team) I enjoyed it more because it wasn't a cluster of people everywhere.

No team balancing: people leave a match & you get 8 vs 3 people teams. :(

Mobile King of the Hill was much more fun then TDM. That's the new "Assault" mode right there. Highlight of the weekend's playing! :)

I apparently had the quad once and didn't know it because there was no obvious client side notification (like Q/Q2/Q3A with the glow & "QUAD DAMAGE" VO). I'd rather see Doom powerups vs Q3A powerups but hey, what do I know, right?

I say the same issue with ET:QW where the "players" complained about the gameplay & things got changed (especially the MCV not being able to be destroyed) & after the changes all the "players" left for something else. So we got a final patch that takes out some of the most exciting things of that game because fair weather fans complained. I'm seeing Doom's MP aimed to please the fair weather fans and they'll be gone within 3-6 months.

This game's pretty cool. I let my 11 year old try it and he got frustrated because (in his universe) ever area he warped to had someone trying to kill him. :)

So far I like being a scavenger & take on larger ships for better parts. :)

TheHappyFriar @ Happy birthday Zelda! Songbringer beta released

I'm just not a fan of how Steam is tied in to almost all the games that are sold on it. I can buy a game on GOG (for example) and install it on my kids computer & they can play it, or I can install it on my computer and I can play it. If I buy it on Steam & the kids are using another game on my Steam account on their computer, I can't play ANY Steam games on mine, even if they're not installed on the kids computer. It's very annoying. So, if I can buy a non-DRM (I like GOG.com) copy, I normally buy that & install it on the computer it's planned to be used on.

Looks pretty sweet! I noticed on your site you have a DRM free version too. Does that mean no steam required? And does that mean steam key & DRM free if preordered?

What's the plan on the final price when released?

TheHappyFriar @ DOOM Snapmap

I'm not worried about "crap" maps being made. Most maps released in the first year or so are crap for any game. Few bothered making content for D3 tech games and Rage tech has almost no takers at all.

Me, personally, if I were a dev on Doom, wouldn't put any $ in to tool dev for modders for this game. The fans and modders mostly whined and crawled in a hole for the past 11 years with only a handful of dedicated ones who loved creating content doing anything.

The BEST thing id/Beth could do at this point is get a TON of kids to make simple but fun maps with this editor and want to do more with other games from their company. Get those kids in to modding and the next id game give them something to do. The current modding & game community is overly critical of anything that's not near-AAA studio content and that part of the fanbase needs to be squashed so new up-and-commers can get their work out there w/o the constant fear of wanna-be's.

Well, top spot for best mod ever QPong doesn't have a profile or a site any more. Let's face it, if it's great it came out for a Quake game first. :p
