Greetings strangers, visitors, and friends. I just thought I'd catch your attention on a little something I find huge and enjoyable. Ah yes, philosophy. It is not a topic, rather it is what we all have. Throughout this blog, I'll discuss and cover a broad, but brief layout of what philosophy is and what meaning it has for all of us. I also believe that this soundtrack goes perfectly with the background, atmosphere and theme of this discussion. It's called Silence. Just kidding. If you'd like to listen to the music, just scroll down to the end of the blog and play the playlist. It's randomly arranged after refreshing. So sit back, relax, and without further delay, let's begin.
Philosophy is the basic nature of knowledge, existence, logic, and reality itself. This definitely applies to an academic curriculum. We as individuals have more or less different views, ideologies, morals, ethics, rational thinking, and more. Some are shared by most such as knowing right from wrong, good and evil, ethical and unethical, as well as the consequential nature of certain actions and how they may be perceived by others. However, the beauty of philosophy is that it ties in to our everyday lives. Everyday we wake up, we are 99.9 percent assuredly going to make a decision, a choice, or some kind of mental judgement toward ourselves, others, or something in particular. This can relate to a philosophical standpoint.
Every action we take is predestined by thought. Some thoughts make us internally a certain way if not noticed by others. Acting on these certain thoughts make us viewed by others in such a way, depending on the situation. To a degree, the intensity of acting upon something will make a response from others that witness it. Social experiments are a perfect example of how people's philosophies may come to light. Of course not everybody will share the exact same response, depending on the scale though. If a scene appears to be dramatic or morally wrong by societal standards, chances are, the surrounding onlookers may not take the situation to kindly towards the wrongful one.
Some scenarios are depicted as situational ethics. Get what you can, then get out. Everyone has different things going on in their lives. More often than not, this ties in to more than just one thing in particular. Honesty and nobility comes in scarcity among our societies. No one truly expects even a good Samaritan to pass the opportunity of obtaining a stash of money if say it were dropped just then by a person walking by. If one is dealing with financial hardships, and they are a good Samaritan, it would seem justifiable that if such an opportunity were to somehow 'fall from the sky' they could take it and it wouldn't be reprehensible towards right or wrong. Right? WRONG! In such situations, taking something that does not belong to you is still considered stealing, which is wrong.
Philosophy itself however is a neutral ground, one that has a good side and a bad side. There are philosophies out there that consists of wicked wisdom. Absolutism, benefit of failure to succeed, and even as far as the good having to suffer from the bad as a means to adequately settle a complicated scenario. People from all walks of life, even criminals have philosophies of their own. Anyone that has a functional mind is bound to have a personal opinion towards or about something or someone. But it goes deeper and beyond in philosophy, for this about taking everything one step further. Philosophy can be compared to a murky body of water. Sure we can test the waters, but we are not sure what may be down there. As a result, philosophy is about the possibilities of an outcome given the situation or circumstances.
In a way, it's sort of taking our minds on a mental journey or adventure to the great unknown or to places never seen nor encountered, too. Well, I said I would make it brief, but I believe I got down the basics for you all and the basic fundamentals are most important.
