Nah, It would be a Naval rather than RAF services ship. At least that's the premise in my Stargate: Valiant fanfic (Set 10 years in the future) and its pretty much Stargate/Star Trek set on a British ship in a universe where large corps are buying cargo ships and are starting to expand from earth, while USAF, the Royal Navy, Russian and Chinese ships doing the exploration and protection of earth and it's colonies.

That's what I imagined at least when I heard the name "Stargate: Universe", sadly that dream died about 20 seconds later with a description of said tv programme.
