You must be confused. Cube 2: Sauerbraten has been running on linux since atleast 2004 (the oldest release download I found on sf has compiling instructions for unix & linux).

I got a different one on ubuntu12.04 32bit (guess i have that library, but it still fails):

Nice, I didn't understand anything from the demo (only lasted 3 minutes before i got stuck in a hole and time was up). How does mining work? I have the ECU transfer unit and a mining drill.. Also discovered that the blaster is quite useless compared to the sniper.. Sniper is great here, the high range and damage has really helped me so far.

About demons, the demon 'knife' seems to one-hit them, but its quite difficult to hit, even when standing next to them or under them. Oh, and days seems very short.. Because it gets completely black I really just have to hide in the night.. Wish there were flashlights or night-vision goggles or something. Of course night is cool and all but, sometimes i find myself not able to get out at all before it gets dark again. Still, I really enjoy the game. Good luck further Phr00t!
