Ashes 2063

Mod review

One of the best TCs I have ever played. From the environmental atmosphere, to the arsenal, to the enemy roster, everything is near perfect. If this ever gets a commercial release on Steam, I would easily drop money on it.

Blood: Fleshed Out

Mod review

Only played the three map demo, but so far I really enjoyed what's there. The maps so far are well designed with good enemy placements. I do admit I had to look at a YouTube video to find out where all the keys in map 3 were, but I did like the overall flow of the level. I look forward to the final version of Fleshed Out!

Duke Nukem: Alien Armageddon

Mod review

The very best Duke Nukem 3D mod, and hands-down one of the best mods I've ever played! Alien Armageddon includes of ton of new content (enemies, weapons, perks), and you even level up your multiple selectable characters. Characters that can accompany you throughout the various maps in a nicely done co-op mode.

Since the modder Dan Gaskill (DeeperThought) has his hands in this, Alien Armageddon even features what I considered the previous "best DN3D mod ever", War of Attrition. Run through over a hundred maps in random order while powering up and purchasing weapon and character upgrades.

If, for whatever reason, you get tired of the War of Attrition mode, you can go through the original DN3D episodes with the mod's new features. Or play three new episodes, spotlighting new characters Bombshell and Wes Wolf. Alien Armageddon has so many modes of play that you can spend literally hundreds of hours and always get a new experience when playing.

I can't stress enough how much enjoyment Alien Armageddon can give if you even remotely like Duke Nukem 3D. This not only puts other mods to shame, but embarrasses commercial releases...Gearbox should be ashamed. And this mod gets continually supported, too! At least SOMEONE didn't give up on the Duke!

So in case you couldn't tell, I thoroughly recommend Duke Nukem: Alien Armageddon. This is one of the few mods I can safely say I'd pay for if it was sold commercially, but since you get all of this greatness for the price of $0.00, playing almost feels like piracy. Download it today!
