i made a mistake, just to correct myself, the second link cannot be intermixed with the first. However, the first link is much less intense, the second link makes you and everything else very vulnerable to bullets, creatures go down much easier as well. The first link, while removing the need for upgrading weapons, isn't so extreme. Yet, there is no changes to how weapons become upgraded, so, upgrading weapons will degrade them. Lastly make sure to edit the fsgame per the readme instructions or it won't work.
also, this is another option, but, it also changes many things besides just weapon characteristics, i haven' really looked into all that it changes reading through the various scripts, because it doesn't document much in the readme file. but, at the least, its worth combining the "upgrades" folder in the weapons folder like from the first link, because the first link did not touch the upgrades, so, using the first link, upgrading a gun could potentially downgrade it. (however, this link changes defense characteristics of people/creatures/and various thing also, so, i just use the upgrades folder which was missing from the first link) Stalker.gamefront.com

this is also for kyuzo, 4shared.com is a good website to use for file hosting, or, going back to the old standard of filefront. having the files in more than one place is never a bad idea for redundancy.
i actually made a realistic weapons addon... but before i was finished looking over everything, my friends PC i was doing everything on crashed and i lost the data... :( if i get time i'll do it all again.
how is the weapon damage? i can't really seem to find this, if i shoot some one in the chest, in real life, they are going to go down, bleeding out first, but, they are going to sit there shooting at me(so maybe two bullets because these are stalkers after all). is this the case?
yeah, part 2 is corrupt, i won't finish downloading, and when it looked like it did, the extraction failed on part II. please re-upload thank you, as i cannot even get part II to download now.
something is wrong with part 2, it takes forever to get a successful download opened, and then when it does connect, its downloading at 1.3kbs per second, saying it will take a day to finish downloading(i think the link will expire before then). i suggest re-uploading part 2, sorry for the trouble.
that would be against "realistic" it would be "enhanced". honestly, if thats what you are looking for read over the comments on the first page, there is a way to effect the % of damage you do overall, decreasing it incrementally with experimentation is your answer to what you want for your game. make it happen, post results, let everyone know. :)
any chance this could be ported to pripyat??? that would be awesome(but, i've never really checked, but, do realistic weapon mods just up the damage on the weapons? ie hit_power ??)

HEY, i was going to write a tutorial for this, but, i'm still messing around with exactly how this works. I found somewhere in my searching that the math involved in how things are calculated amongst the stats and then what percentage that will equal. For example i'm messing around with the artifacts and trying to make one thats not stupidly over powered so just a lot of guess and check at first. Under the _absorption] heading, and for _immunity = they are usually around 1.0 I am finding that 0.0 is actually 100%. So, if we apply this math which works out as rate x multiplyer divided by 2 you get your percentage(mostly). _immunity is the base rate where as the _restore are the multiples. So, i set the _immunity to .8 and then _restore to .0009 multiply them together and divide the answer by 2 coming up with .00036, which gave me 36% to fire/burn/explosion all that stuff. They work in tandem. Why its set to the millionths decimal place is unsure to me, but, again, that math period is odd. anywho, this is just my rambling i wanted to get down somewhere. However, this math applies to everything here, there is a base and then something that effects that base point. However, it seems the decimal place and related percentage is not always the same.

lol, just get a toy that looks like a gun, i think that would be a lot easier to get a hold of/cheaper.

the other reason they guns at the hip is because thats how a gun would be fired, running around, you wouldn't run around with a run straight down the middle of your body, its off to one side on your shoulder. So i am also voting for i hope this is a "zoomed" view.
