I've been game modding on and off for the past 19 years, I tend to do solitary work since the majority of groups mods fail but I've done environment art for Skywind and currently work on Halo Evolutions. My strengths - Texturing, 2d concept art, map design, Engine Work (particually enviroments) I'm very good at reusing things, making the old seem new. I mean Blizzard do regularly patch and maintain their games but with a patch this big it could be that just like the Starcraft 1 remaster. A graphical overhaul, where they release all the functional and compatibility fixes for free and charge for the new artwork

I know this is 2 years late, but there's a button in game to disable it, stumbled across it by accident earlier today. The Yellow Bank Chest in game has a button on the right hand side of it. :)

Incredible mod, it's crashed once, but it doesn't matter as the Dungeon Siege 2 character auto saving is great. No real harm done other than backtracking for 5 minutes.

Level balancing part of the mod is cool but I'de recommend turning it off unless you're struggling, you can do that at the Bank chest in game which has a button attached the right hand side of it.

Thanks I loved them two especially Black hole rising and Dual Strike.

One of my favorite things about modding is the being able to cross over games and many great ideas merging together. It was really fun to get the real-time and art side of Warcraft and the Stats and tactics of Advance Wars terrain together in one game.

If you have a friend who plays either I'd recommend giving it a shot, although 1v1 can be too competitive I admit. I tried to get the triggers working with co-op but just ran out of time to fix all the bugs sadly.

In some ways it has been sad for us as a team, but I'm glad Age of Empires 1 will now be officially future proofed for myself and future generations to enjoy and I look forward to day I can see it on a 4k monitor.

As a huge fan of the series it's been fantastic to see Microsoft accept the modding team Forgotten Empires and embrace the love the community has for the series. I hope with their success we are 1 step closer to seeing a sequel and not and end to the series.

Gaelic and Celtic Civs would be cool, unfortunately we never got around the Hard coded limit for Civilizations in Age of Empires 3. There are ways but they have their own set of issues.

Similar too some of restrictions with physics props and animations, if we had access to the source code we could eventually do a lot more with the right help but I doubt that will ever be the case. The Age of Empires 3 Engine is too valuable and is still being modified and used today.

Halo Wars 2 is built on top of the same code base as far as know Age of Empires 3 and Age of Mythology.

Perhaps but the height appearance might be due to the difference between perspective and Orthographic camera views. I didn't make the Greek buildings but when making the roman buildings I have noticed this a lot.

If you notice one that is still the original is probably only placeholder or the colours just not right in game yet, cnc3 vfx are fiddly to work with. I've made the vfx for 3 types of plasma so far. There's a green hunter/plasma pistol one, blue plasma rifle one and a pink turret. :)

This is awesome :) keep up the good work, I spent a week making a similar mod myself but I never had the time to learn how to put my 3d art into Age of Empires 3.

I'm more than happy to share what I've made if your interested, any models I had aren't textured though only unwrapped. I'm happy to help with any the models your struggling with, but I can't commit too much time to it since I'm already busy with 2 other mods.

They're being designed as one of three covenant factions. Only graphics have been completed for the Heretic faction, our design efforts are currently focused on the default UNSC and Covenant.

Actually its the first texture which has been built with nothing but clean patterns and normals information first, the workflow involves, DDO and NDO using Quixel suite 2. Halo CE isn't the best reference for arctic environments either but I'm very familiar with how veteren texture artists in that community build there forerunner textures.

I do have a clean version of the texture but it won't be in the ice maps.

Its kind of hard to compare art and bug fixes to total conversions. Its like comparing 2d and 3d art which do i prefer. Out of context i don't have a preference, it's the quality of the mod itself that decides whether I'm interested.

If the mod had more attention it would be easier to gain contributors to help. As Tim has mentioned on the home page in comments the game had a game breaking issue making it impossible to play against AI and took the entire of the XML/script files being rebuilt from the ground up to fix it.

Without access to source code there will always be these kind of walls we face in development, these things inevitably delay the games progress and more than anything take time. The more modders able to build the project the faster these issues can be addressed.

What doesn't help, which is quite detrimental to potential contributors support is despite Tim regularly updating people posting the mod is dead and down-talking it regularly. I understand the frustration but when it all stacks up on the page people assume the mod is actually dead. This simply is helpful to anyone.

Ah sweet :) I've just started learning Z-brush myself been using 3dsmax for 3-4 years. I did some high poly AoE 1 art earlier this year Polycount.com (bottom of page)

If you have the time I'd like to discuss a Starcraft 2 Project I have on hold due to lack of unit highpoly graphics and animations. The project is setup and running with place holders. No pressure been slowly working on it, if you want to know more just drop me a message.
