This is a pretty interesting game. I got far enough in one game, I unlocked the /maketown command.
Feedback
1)Please implement a save/load feature, it's absolutely essential. I don't like to start from the beginning every time.
2)The game sometimes (rarely) crashes when the turn is over. If there was a save, it wouldn't be so bad, but...
3)The commands of the 3rd era do not appear in the help menu!
The /maketown and /makebigtown for example, and I think I have a command about war supplies but I forgot it because it's not there either

I retract what I said about the red gem, you can get them pretty early. But I have no idea how to arm them with projectiles so they can use the slingshots.

Hi, nice little addition, I'd like to give some feedback:

- Right now the only viable strategy is to have the Master tank the bandits while the minions hit from safety. However this leaves him exhausted and without mana so research is hard. I think we need earlier access to red gem so we can make more expendable minions.
Otherwise I have no idea how to not lose when the tougher enemies come.

- the UI needs work. a) a way to deselect an inventory item without moving it
b) better selection of enemy to attack, with proper indication that he is targeted.

- Give us a way to pause the game and be able to craft items and give orders. Right now valuable time is wasted and it seems I'm always under attack.

I have the same problem, I even unpacked IMayor.jar but it didn't help.

I see a lot of potential in this game. :)

Feedback

- Movement is clunky. I press the W button and I go forward a whole meter.

- 3rd person view is especially clunky, I suggest you lock the camera to where I am looking, and use another button to unlock the mouse cursor so I can click on things

- Jumping is weird. You lose almost all horizontal momentum. Make it so we can jump longer.

- I told the doctor I don't want to go back to the wounded girl (i wanted to see the quests), he told me "shut up and move", but now he won't follow me :(

- I went back to the wounded girl, but she wasn't there anymore.
The tower I had built was also gone. I had to quit and load again and she appeared. The tower was still gone though.

- There is a bug where left clicking will stop working. it won't work for any action at all, including digging, chopping, fighting. It is only fixed if I restart the game.

- I have no idea how to kill a warbird, I don't have a bow, and it just pushes me back when it comes down.
- 500 wood is a bit too much grinding.
- killing animals won't give me meat, just hides. I also suggest a better way of looting the corpse, either WoW or Minecraft style. I don't like that loot just appears in my inventory.

Thanks for reading, keep up the good work!

This game is more similar to Dwarf Fortress than Towns.
Which is great, because DF with good UI = awesome.

It is very interesting already, even though it is still in alpha.

I liked this game. Controls were hard at first, but then flying felt very enjoyable. Nice and simple.

Carrying that box was the hardest, but I like a challenge.

What I didn't like is that when I land on the wrong side, I have to restart.

I added 2 screenshots to demonstrate what I mean.
Note the difference in 1) Message number 2) Energy production

No game time has passed between the screenshots, just clicked OK, click somewhere else, new error, etc

Ok, when the 2nd LV lands, there is a constant Range Check Error, every time you press OK, another colonist arrives, from the same LV (CPod02), and a new "End of Colonization" message is sent to me about this
Because of this, I am unable to play/test the game.

This happens even if I only send 1 LV, and CPod02 appears to still be docked to the mothership.

This is nice and all, but I have to ask. The auto-updater indicates v4 dates back to 2007. The v5 beta started in 2009. So...is this game dead? Or this entry means you've started work on it again?

Aah, that explains why it wasn't activated, I wasn't supposed to play it! :D

No problem, I love to see a game grow! Thanks for you answer in fact.

You might want to update the game manual, it says level 1+ houses require pottery! Should be in mission 3's description too, currently it says I should get 10 houses to level 3 but it doesn't explain how.

I just played the beta, looks like a nice game. I found a few bugs.

1)When you finish mission 2, mission 3's flag does not become visible. I had to change the save file to "From village to city=1" to activate it.

2)My houses got to level 1, then even though I had pottery, their satisfaction kept falling. Sometimes pottery was consumed though, but the houses' satisfaction didn't go up even a tick. Either I'm doing something wrong or that's a bug. (two times I got errors ingame and I pressed ignore, didn't crash the game though)

And an observation:

I feel food consumption is WAY too much. I had to make 5 bakeries to keep a positive food rate for 10 houses, and even then, once the extra citizens from the house upgrades kicked in, it turned negative. At this rate there is no way I can build a stable economy with advanced buildings.

Looks great, but I registered for your forums and didn't get the activation email, even after I did the "resend activation email" thing

I like the premise of this game, it looks and feels great!

If kurtloeffler reads this comments,
I have some points/suggestions/bug reports to make:

1)Make creating a local server easier (using buttons like "launch local server" "launch local client"), with the server, master server, client and what not, I was confused as to what I was supposed to do. By setting the isserver=true and generateterrain=true I was able to play the game, but while my inventory is saved, the map is not, a new one is generated every time. I assume I must be doing something wrong. (some combinations of true/false values I tried, using ip=127.0.0.1 gave me "Fatal error in gc: GetThreadContect failed" )

1b) "Keen's server" looks terrible because the players have stripped away most of the cubes, it will give new players the wrong impression, just random columns everywhere. I don't know if you can really do something about this one though, making the creation of a local server easier would solve this too, in a way.

2)This one is more of a suggestion/idea for when crafting is implemented. Consider making crafting less like Minecraft with the 2x2 flat space we already see in the inventory, and more like 3D, by putting the cubes on the ground (or an iron platform perhaps!) to craft what you want. Especially for moon rovers, consider making "wheel" and "engine" parts, around which you can build the rest of the rover to look as you please (with some size limitations perhaps)

3)And some minor bugs I found: (some may be related to the fact that I played using the server and not a client, sorry if that's the case)

-When in chat mode, pressing one of the WASD keys will still move the player
-If you are standing on a cube and you target its bottom right corner, you can put a cube behind it and diagonally
- Not really a bug, but I couldn't find how to switch to 3rd person mode like in the screenshots

That's all, looking forward to feedback (and of course updates!) :)
