Immersion Overhaul Mutator

Mod review

Amazing overhaul mod, the small tweaks that RO2 needed to sound and act as great (or better) than ostfront. From the much improved PPSH41 firing sound effect down to the terrifying and deafening scream of the Russian rocket strikes, this mod makes a nearly perfect game perfect.

StaudSoft's Synthetic World

Game review

Amazing, loved the alpha build and that was obviously super early. Pretty much this game is how I wanted Minecraft to be. Can't wait to see where it goes.

This Is War

Mod review

This is a really cool mod, should have been how the game was made.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Rebalanced

Mod review

Some good tweaks for little things in R6V2 that bothered me. Shame there is still no Glock 18C suppressor, but that's hardly the author's fault.

DayZ

Mod review

Bought ARMA 2 for this, was sadly disappointed. Possibly the most over-hyped mod of all time, in my opinion. It claims to be a "realistic" survival experience, but of the four times I died, I had to ask myself how "realistic" those deaths were. Most were from jackasses with sniper rifles who shot me for no reason, the others were from zombies with teleporting and/or invisibility powers. Great idea, horrible execution and player base. Sniping an unarmed guy you've never met isn't "paranoid" it's being a troll.

Realistic Driving and Flying

Mod review

Amazing, I can't go back to driving in the default game. Before the Corvette knockoff had as much power as a riced out honda civic. Now it feels suitably powerful. Now if only we could get a good engine sound mod...

Dylan's Far Cry 2 Realism Mod

Mod review

Amazing, makes the game playable again, spent a good 2 hours gaming without blinking. Action is tense and almost scary, like it should be, instead of being a damn chore.

Team Fortress 2

Game review

Well, I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but here goes. Valve fanboys can kiss my ***, this is my OPINION, google it if you don't know what that means.

After playing a good 10-20 hours, here is my breakdown of TF2, in order of importance, from most to least:

Gameplay 6/10: it's alright, but nothing special, a game that revels in mediocrity. If I wanted a standard run and gun shooter, I'd play Quake 3 again. If you're lucky enough to have a decent team, you may have some teamwork going on, more likely you'll just have the occasional medic healing you. Totally un-immersive gameplay, however.

Audio 3/10: guns sound like automatic staplers, however, the voices are alright, and some of the comments are amusing.

Animations 4/10: not very lifelike, somewhat to be expected in a cartoon game, but still.

Community 1/10: mostly a bunch of whiny 10 year old fanboys. I'd rather play CoD on Xbox without being allowed to mute anyone than play with the TF2 community. The fanboy butthurt that will emerge due to this post only proves my point.

Graphics 2/10: Don't get me started... graphics aren't that important, but really? This isn't stylistic, it's lazy.

Support 2/10: would get a great rating, except for the hat anal rape Valve lays down on owners of this game. Nice try attempting to milk this pile of mediocrity for everything it will give, Valve.

Overall, dodge this game unless you want another boring FPS trying to be stylistic and original by doing what Quake and Doom did better a decade ago. Unless you're partial to paying for virtual items, if so, go ahead and DL this one ASAP.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Game review

****. IW lost my respect with this game. Treyarch had already done it with WaW, then this comes out... Absolute garbage. The campaign has a few fun levels, but the multiplayer is BS. Spec ops is ok, but overall, this game isn't worth 30 bucks, nevermind the 60 the creators are asking for it.
