Are you planning on uploading any mods or maps to portal 2 workshop or greenlight? so that it could get more popularity.

If you go to Steam open Games and click on the "all games" tab and choose "Tools" you will get a list of alot of different tools.
Install Portal 2 Autoring Tools - Beta for making portal 2 maps
and Source SDK for Portal 1.
