LOVE the game so far, I just have a few suggestions for it that I think could improve the immersion problems/frustration I had during my playthrough.
1) PLEASE add a way to skip the text at the beginning. People can read at their own pace, and it can get annoying sitting there and waiting over a minute just for the text to pass.
2) As people have mentioned, a save feature would be HIGHLY appreciated. I had the game crash halfway through my first playthrough and had to restart all over again, which lead me sitting through the intro text again; that can get a bit irritating.

3) Not sure if this was lost in translation, but if certain pickups are guaranteed to kill you, make them more obvious in the pickup text; that, or only do a scare, as it just wastes the players time having to reload a checkpoint simply because they were curious. Keeping some text red and some grey is a GOOD mechanic for leading the player into a false state of security for a scare though! ;)
4) The chase down the river can EASILY be made scarier if there were some splashing sound effects or approaching noises. The slow movement while keeping the girl out of sight really makes the chase not so scary. Give the player a reason to jump in their seat knowing something is RIGHT behind them needs emphasis.
