Everything from room to room clearing with small arms to several hundred meters with both small arms and large caliber weapons. It really depends on the map.

No. You must have Steam with Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 installed in order to play Darkest Hour.

It's not a bug. Press the the primary fire button on your mouse (usually the left mouse button). That will start the tank's engine :)
