We're going to do first release soon. We splitted mod intro first act and the rest to give you playable thing faster so you don't have to wait. You'll get with the game mission editor so you can expect many fan-made additions released soon after game release.

Select launcher in game directory, hit mod button and select update folder (it must be copied into game directory).
I don't recommend playing old and outdated Demo release. Now it has nothing to do with current Earth Defense.

It's going to be similar to the Freelancer in many aspects. But you'll find this game much player-friendly than any space sim before. I don't want to give you any release dats because they're always delayed - all of us know that. While waiting for first Act of Earth Defense I suggest playing FreeSpace 1 and FreeSpace 2 games to get familiar with FreeSpace universe where Earth Defense is happening.

Not yet. But I reccomend to play FreeSpace 1 and FreeSpace 2 in the meantime to get faimiliar with FreeSpace universe and history. That'd be helpful to understand Earth Defense plot later.

Well, Homeworld has diffrences in many aspects compared to the Earth Defense or FreeSpace 1/2. The biggest diffrence is that ED is space-simulator and Homeworld is space strategy game. But you'll also see many similarities. There will be small fighters and giant-size capital ships... And big galaxy to see and explore :)

Well, there was a demo release - But honestly it's outdated and very buggy. THe plot changed since the old demo release so I don't recommend to play. Although if you still want to play it check our our forum here (http://game-warden.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=74) and enjoy the demo. Any feedback over the forums would be appreciated as well as some activity over there. Remember that Earth Defense is connected with FreeSpace and FreeSpace 2 plot.
