As I said, in my game it permanently prevented any antimatter regeneration - none of my replication-able ships ever had >0 antimatter, even after researching all the AM regen techs.
If the ability is working for you, the reason is probably some difference between 1.91 and 1.92.

After I altered the BuffRemoveAntimatter_Replicators.entity file to
antiMatter
Level:0 0.000000
Level:1 0.000000
Level:2 0.000000
Level:3 0.000000
it did exactly that; before it prevented any antimatter gain.
I was on version 1.91 though - could that be the reason the ability didn't work as intended?

Replicators seem to be broken now - replicate-able ships never generate any antimatter. Instead of only draining AM after build, the antimatter furnace ability permanently nullifies it.

sorry to necro this, but the spring engine (springrts.com) might also be viable (open-source RTS engine -> 100% no engine-side license issues); it can support tons of units (I think 20k standard unit cap) and is made for physics simulating games. Many maps available, terraforming, configurable units, ...
The graphical side seems to be a bit dated shader-wise, but that might be fixable (still not too bad)

1st, go to C:\programs (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\portal2\portal2\maps and put the map files in there
2nd, right-click on portal 2 in steam, click on starting options (or something like that) and type "-console"
3rd, in the console which opens ingame , you type the first 3-4 letters of the map you want to play, press the down arrow to select one and press enter to load it
4rd, have fun!
