Monster Minis Extreme Off-Road

Game review

I really really want to like this game, but the controls are waaaaaaay too sensitive, so it's too hard to get into.

Aeon Command

Game review

Game delivers on what it promises, and runs flawlessly (for me at least) under Ubuntu Linux. Really fun to play, not difficult at all with a nice progression of difficulty as you play.

Edit: I want to add that the game finishes pretty quickly, and that's the only reason this doesn't get a 10 from me. It needs more levels, etc for the campaign.

The Adventures of Rick Rocket

Game review

This game is so much fun, but it gets hard out of the blue. Props for supporting Linux as well.

Non Flying Soldiers

Game review

This is the first game I've bought on Desura, and it's more than worth the $6 I paid for it. It's a pretty straight-forward puzzle game with a funny concept that never takes itself too seriously, but never tries to dumb the game down either. I found myself losing track of time while playing, trying to figure out how to make the birds perfectly get the medals and coins, all with the little tools they provide. The music is good, but repetitive, so a little variation would help improve the game. The graphics are pretty decent; not mind-blowing, but much better than what a lot of indie developers out there are offering now.

On a side note, after downloading and installing the game I initially had trouble launching it, but shortly after posting a note on the game's forum, a developer promised to have a patch up quickly, and within a few hours I was able to easily play the game. The developers of this game obviously care about the players, so I'll keep coming back to them in the future.

This game shows that Linux gamers are definitely not stuck with bottom-of-the-barrel bargain games, but instead are offered good quality, fun games at a more than reasonable price.

I hope that didn't sound too much like a commercial. I just really like this game and was surprised by how good it actually was.

Red Eclipse

Game review

I changed my rating from an 8 to a 10. Why? I own ~10 games on Desura. I own 145 games on Steam. I'm a hardcore Linux gamer, and I still play Red Eclipse more than any other game. It is exactly what you need after a long day. Very simple; just go in, shoot stuff, die, shoot more, nothing special or crazy or huge addons or anything like that. It gets the job done and in a quick-loading way. LOVE THIS GAME.

TripleA

Game review

Good maps, seems a little complicated at first but I used the minimap to get used to it. I play for hours without even noticing.
