When the Empire’s new escort carrier made its first appearance, the RCA took little notice of as it had little armaments and a relatively weak hull. This seems to be a grave mistake as they suffered some disastrous defeats in the hand of the imperial fleet as it robed the RCA of its better Fighter cover advantage with seer number provided by the carriers. The RCA, Immediately recognizing the need of a fleet support carrier, contacted if ship builder’s with the specifications for a well armed carrier that can support the fleet in an intense and prolonged fleet engagement. While multiple designs were submitted, all of them proved to be too expensive for mass production. Seeking alternative, they were contacted by Sian Tevv, the current prime minister of the planet sullust. He proposed to convert the massive sullustan tourisms SoroSuub Class-2000 Luxury cruise liner’s fleet to military carriers. Although reluctant, the RCA nevertheless authorized the project. In less than six mouth’s, the sullustan shipyards sent 15 converted ships to the RCA which was quick pressed to service for an upcoming counter offensive. To the surprise of many, the ships proved themselves to be not only excellent support vessels, but good anti blocked runners and raiding/harassment platforms. The design, now classified as Enterprise-class support carrier, was formally accepted into the RCA fleet and was order of immediate mass-production.
