I think the Desura version works similarly, with an 1-hour trial and a key to unlock. But the key for Desura and the version downloaded from Freebird are different -- but if you've purchased it from Desura and want a key for the Freebird version, just email me and I'll make one for ya. :D

Heya MR. It's finished, though there will be bonus "mini-episodes" released in the future before the next one (which would be a new game) comes. :D And as for Steam, it's a maybe -- depends on whether they'd accept it.

@Neo: Porting it to Linux and Mac are on the top of my wishlist. At the moment there are some technical constraints, but sometimes next year there's something coming out that might make it possible. Fingers crossed!

That being said, it might be available through cloud gaming on Linux & Mac much sooner.

The game is really, really story-driven though -- almost an interactive pixel movie, so it's probably not for everyone. I suggest trying the 1 hour trial first to decide if it's for you. :)

Thanks for the kind words, folks! As for how one progresses, it is like an adventure game (but also RPG-hybrid, in the sense of look and feel), so it's based on interactions -- there is no battle system or grinding, and it's story-oriented.

To provide a sample, I've renovated & re-released our other game (free), "The Mirror Lied" -- I've up'ed it to Desura last weekend, but apparently there's some technical difficulty with getting it to show up. Until it's fixed here, you can just try it from www.FreebirdGames.com

Its play style is similar to that of To the Moon (though without the whole memento/memory link acquisition thing, of course). But keep in mind that To the Moon is a lot more narrative-driven with a concrete story, where as The Mirror Lied is an abstract short.

As for game-play, a sizable portion of the game takes place inside the memories, in which you have to activate mementos in various ways to travel through them. Puzzles and mini-games are scattered where appropriate as well.

That being said, this is still a story-oriented game, and there is no battle system or leveling/grinding.
