Guys, we really need to start making noise on the Angry Joe Show forums! If we can get Angry Joe on our side, it will give us a HUGE boost in signatures.

Just make an account on his site like I did, click the link provided by Recoveryanonymous, and start talking about MERP!

Just be sure to keep it polite and mature. We need to come across as the good guys here.

Angry Joe can give us the break we've been looking for. Come on, guys, let's chat up the forums!

Where exactly is the MERP reference in the video?

So true! Unless of course the Tolkien Estate decides after they win the lawsuit(assuming they do)that MERP is an abomination and must be terminated.

22k awesome! Now we just need a big name like Angry Joe or Little Kuriboh or Team Four Star to boost our signature numbers into the stratosphere.

How are the talks with WB going? Anything important happen?

Also, what about the letter to Peter Jackson?

As others have said, MERP only dies when we give up. We're getting a fairly steady stream of signatures here. I said before that MERP's goal with this petition isn't to cause WB to have a massive financial crisis, just to show them that killing MERP will do them more harm than good.

Say Guardians and LEGO LOTR are $30 each(of course they'll cost more than that, probably $60 each or something, but I'm being generous to prove a point). That means that with 21,000 boycotting their games, they lose $1,260,000 in sales. If the games are $60 apiece then they lose double that at $2,520,000.

Is that a lot for a company as big as WB? Maybe and maybe not, but in time they'll notice that a lot of fans are turning against them for what they're doing.

Besides, MERP isn't dying quietly like WB wants. They're making noise on the Web and letting people know what WB is doing.

As Recoveryanonymous stated, WB is going to take a hit to their fan PR for this. As long as we don't back down, MERP is still alive and WB hasn't won.

Also on a side note, and I'm saying this to avoid feeling guilty later, I'm going to see "The Hobbit" in theaters because I liked the LOTR movies a ton. Yes, yes, ridicule all you want. No way am I going to get Guardians or Lego LOTR, though. The only good LOTR games were the EA ones anyway.

Save MERP and don't give up guys! Together we will triumph!

Hey, here's an idea. If we're going to contact LittleKuriboh, why not Team Four Star as well? They are the creators of Dragonball Z Abridged, and YouTube has removed their videos before despite the fact that they're clearly parodies and have a disclaimer at the start of each episode.

Their viewing figures are through the roof(millions per episode) and if we get them on our side, it will be a HUGE gain!

I think both Team Four Star and LittleKuriboh could be good allies in our struggle.

I must agree with atibingler. You've already gotten more than 18,000 signatures with more coming in every day. You're not trying to cripple WB or anything, just show them that they stand to lose more than gain if they follow through with this C&D nonsense.

Plus, if we don't hold our ground, where will it all end? WB and other big companies will just shut down large, ambitious, and actually good mods like these at will. We need to draw the line and do our best to save MERP because if we don't, no one else will.

And honestly, the odds of MERP winning against WB are like the odds of a 3-foot hobbit taking the most evil item in all of the world to the heart of darkness and destroying it against all odds.

Oh, wait...

Hey, guys, I'm new here. This is my first post. I just signed up when I saw that everyone was talking about MERP and what it meant to them.

I was totally into the LOTR movies when they came out and was obsessed. Now, LOTR and other fantasy epics have inspired myself and a friend to team up and write our own story set in a world of our creation.

Of course, it will never match the beauty and majesty of what Tolkien did(who can?) but at least my friend and I can try our best thanks to what this man did all those years ago.

I also loved the Elder Scrolls games and became immediately interested when I heard about this project. I was crushed when I saw the C&D notice a couple weeks back, and I was outright shocked when I heard about how MERP tried their best to reason with WB only to be given the cold shoulder and left out to dry.

I know that WB has to protect their rights, but at what cost? Destroying years of hard work and the dreams of some of their most loyal fans? Their comes a point when you have to say "I'll do what I have to, but I won't cross this line. That's just wrong."

Warner Bros, THIS IS THAT LINE! Betraying your own fans is a terrible thing to do, no matter what the reason.

I only hope that MERP can continue doing their AWESOME job of adapting Tolkien's books and Peter Jackson's movies into game form.

And from what I've seen on this forum, all of you are as passionate about this as I am. You guys don't want good ideas to go to waste. Neither did Tolkien. Neither does Jackson.

Here's to a great mod and I hope to see all you fine fellows at the Green Dragon! ;)
