Thankyou for the constructive criticism, we have been finding that many people when they give it another go get used to the concepts and uses of different skills and weapons. We hope to implement many of these things that you have stated.
The player stopping when he swings is there to stop sword wielders from becoming unstoppable juggernauts, you have to learn the trick of predicting were you target is going to be when you stop moving, note it will also stop the player your hitting movement as well if you swing is on target.
We are still trying to find fixes for the animation jump as this is a problem with source engines full bodied 3rd person anims.
I have already added this feature and it will be in the next patch, really sorry, im kicking myself that i forgot.

Kingdoms Collides melee system is very involved and id urge you to stick with it as it takes a long time to master (trust me a good swordsman can b unstoppable with any sword). Watch this video if you want to learn the basics. Youtube.com
The same goes for aiming the bow and spells it takes practice and just use them for a short time and you will begin to hit targets just by "feel".
We are extremely sorry about the delay, i was looking forward to getting it out there on the probably as much as you. One of the main problems is the fact that we naively thought that servers would sort themselves out but the night before the release we realized we had none what so ever. We didnt want Kingdoms Collide to go the same way as 100s of mods out there that are released but aren't played for this reason. This tome round we are going to actively pursue server. Another reason was there was some issues with new players finding how everything works and what content is actually avialable as too late we tested with new players and they all struggled. So we are hopping to improve usability and provide info on moddb and webiste.
well, kc does have bots but they are pretty basic and not the most fun to play with, that scene in the vid is more to show what big battles in kc can look like.

No the armour/model you get is dependent on the type of weapons you choose, eg if you choose big heavy swords and shield you will be automatically given heavy armour
yes it will be 100% free, although you have to own hl2
yep, you could be a heavy knight with stealthy spells moves like invisibility, teleport if you wish its up to you :)
