"Bernie Needs Love" giveaway happening now on Phr00t's Software:
I address the robot accuracy in the FAQ, seen here:
Hope you pick it up & enjoy it :)
Steam keys should already be available to who buy the game now. I've uploaded Steam keys to Desura, IndieGameStand, IndieRoyale & GamersGate, and I've sent e-mails to BMT Micro owners!
Hrm... Steam will likely be the best place to get it (once it is out this Friday), since it provides instant updates that automatically download. However, BMT Micro is my next best choice, since it is easy for me to push updates to & 3089 does have an auto-update system built-in with BMT Micro. Desura is OK, but updates are rather delayed. IndieGameStand is another option that gets updates quickly, but you'll have to manually re-download & re-install to get the updates.
You can check out the homepage, which does have more info here: 3089game.wordpress.com
There are YouTube videos out there of people playing 3089, but due to the rapid development of the game, most (if not all) of the videos are old versions.
I went with a 2-player co-op game since almost all multiplayer use of 3079 was 2-player co-op, so I designed 3089 specifically around 2-player co-op (always see other player's location, joining with your buddy to make a super-robot, can't hurt each other etc.)
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you have any more questions.
Send me another email, I sometimes need another reminder if I don't get back to you in a few days :P
3079 & 3089 are quite different games, even if they share the same core concepts. There is plenty of value in both. At any rate, I don't set the Steam refund policies, Steam does.
Are you the one having technical problems with the game also posting in the Steam discussion boards? I'm trying my best to help.
Steam's official policy on refunds is "no refunds", as seen here:
Planning on early January if everything lines up! Hoping to have another update out & trading cards ready to go...
The robots are programmed to be accurate :) You have to be smarter than them - don't stray too far from cover and don't run away in a straight line. You are not out of range if the pistol is hitting you... remember the robot will be running after you too.
I don't want to reduce accuracy because then players who are good at dodging will find the game too easy. The game is balanced pretty good for getting hit relatively often & you should do fine if you are properly stocked, seek cover & use Time Ripping in dire situations. If you find things too hard, head back towards the starting zone.
The AI, if they formed a group, are good at focus fire and determining who is the biggest threat. Overall, sounds like you are getting in over your head. Try hanging closer to the starting zone & make sure you are equipped with armor. Things like Time Ripping and the decoy item will make things easier, so make sure you are using all those resources.
Probably :-P I was thinking of some type of transport ship to carry followers...

This game recently got greenlit! I look forward to serving you, again, on Steam!
Yes, all Desura owners will get 3089 Steam keys, just as I did with 3079 :-)
