Let me remind everyone the correct way to use this :

1 - Install Stalker
2 - Start a new game and save it ( necessary to create the config files and \Gamedata\* directories )
3 - Quit game
4 - Install Complete and only Complete. It's a bundled add-on and will break if you install anything above it.
5 - Start a new game and play.

If your question is « what do I do with the complete file » ... Erm, it's basic computer operation man, you'd better learn that quick :)

a) If you're a computer novice, on your desktop ( the screen where all your icons are ) right-click, create a new folder, name it DOWNLOAD.

b) When you download stuff, put it in that folder, that way you'll find it easily.

c) If you don't know where your Complete went, click on your desktop, hold down both « Ctrl » and « F » keys then use the File Search to locate it on all local hard disks. They're named C:, D:, and so on. Complete itself is named « 2009_10_10_Stalker_Complete_2009_v1.4.4_Setup »

d) Once you've find Complete, follow the steps I laid at the beginning.

Yes. Those are addressed in ZRP ( Zone Reclamation Project ), which is bundled with Complete.

Hello people, following a crash I lost float32_2.0.msi and desperately need it for tests. Should any of you have it, I'd be grateful. :)

The Bandit Polka was a big improvement though. ;)

So, seeing the amount of people wondering about the Complete series' future, I went ahead for the best possible course of actions and simply asked Pavel for some news. :D

SO :
1) YES the projects are still alive
2) BUT Pavel is swamped with IRL

Considering this, ZRP and many mods included with complete are evolving and their respective v2 are approaching. It is best for Pavel to wait for stable versions of those.

Complete is already a pré-merged compilation of Pavel's textures + ZRP + many useful tweak mods out there, each re-tweaked to work seamlessly together. As a rule of thumb, no, mod compilations are not compatible with each other because of the sheer number of same files that are replaced. Even with Smart Mod Manager you're bound to wreck your nerves trying to make it work. :)

With this mod it even works like a charm on a AMD Sempron and a GeForce GT 610 with 2 GiB RAM, so I don't think you'll run into any problems. Just remember that under Vista/Seven/8 older games do not have any rights management, so : lower the UAC, but DO NOT UNINSTALL IT ( it leaves parts of it active but now you can't control them ), install with right click « as admin » only, and NEVER EVER install anything in /program files/ to avoid the rabid UAC protection that's always active with MAX restrictions on some default directories.

Ignore this - I found them neatly stashed under gamedata\ textures\ wpn\ 16x9 Scopes\

Thanks to Dolgov for making a well structured archive :)

Heya :)

I switched from a 4:3 screen to a 16:9 - which directory(ies)from Gamedata\ shall I overwrite with which from the .7z to avoid reinstallation ? ( basically I just want to switch from 4:3 scopes to 16:9 ones without being forced to re-do all my custom changes if possible )

That's a parameter that can be changed in the gamedata/ config/ weapons/ <weapon's name>.ltx

You'll have to adjust default « zoom » ( in fact FOV ) from 50 to I don't remember how many. 75 I think.

Finished the Pripyat evacuation ... I hate luck-based missions -_-' sometimes it spawns mere zombies, other times 3-4 Chimeras ... And the AI, damn it ! Had to reload a dozen of times because the military cross their fires and kill each other.

That should be the next great thing that needs improvement : to make an AI that's not suicidally berserk. :)

This has something to do with DX9 / DX10 / DX 11 rendering. If you started your current game on a 32 bits system, you're still in DX9 ; DX10/11 do *software emulation* of DX9, hence a sharp loss of FPSs. Try to go to the options to force dx10/dx11 rendering.

You can also try to open user.ltx with notepad++

Scroll down to where it says « renderer renderer_r#.## »
change it to « renderer renderer_r3 »

r3 = Street Lighting (Dx10),
r2.5 = Dynamic Lighting (Dx9),
r2=static lighting, etc.

Also, note that CoP is a 32 bits game, you may have to play with the affinity if you have a multi-core processor, 32 bits programs often aren't able to properly cope with more than 2 cores.

Adding the missing script files is better than removing the script entirely ; here they are : Mediafire.com

Furthermore I noticed that the Advanced environments and skyboxes don't eat very much memory - a few mibs at most - so it should be 99% safe for everyone to re-add them even if you *need* the Lite install. They are very cool and add a nice touch to the atmosphere.

The big memory killer is the NPC variation, it seems that *each* instantiation of NPCs loads its textures in memory instead of referring to a shared resource - so the more variation we have, the more textures it loads multiplied by the number of NPCs.

Maybe the script forgot to take into account the reduced number of environments in Lite. I'll re-add the full Advanced environments and tell the result.

additional info : the underground worked fine with complete 1.0 + optimization patch ; but as it was straining my old rig I reinstalled with 1.0.1 lite, and now I do crash systematically in the underground.

I miss the ZM LR-300 "Sniper" from ShoC ... Anyone know of a tutorial where I could learn how to create and add new weapons ?

Little error in game_relations.ltx

[action_points]
personal_goodwill_limits = -10000, 1000
community_goodwill_limits = -10000, 1000

instead of

[action_points]
personal_goodwill_limits = -10000, 10000
community_goodwill_limits = -10000, 10000

Sadly that stuttering is a vanilla engine problem. It can be alleviated with the noprefetch mod, of which Complete uses the zero prefetch ; maybe basic prefetch can be better for you, try it out :

SOME weapons can be upgraded at a technician to add a dovetail/picatinny rail for scopes and/or to add an external rifle cannon filing to mount silencers. Even fewer have both.

Your gun is no longer on the ground because the NPC that slammed you stole it while you were staggering.

Just put a bullet in the ******'s skull. That'll teach him his place, you're in the Zone, dammit. :D

The 1.0.1 version will have a choice of running the mod in Normal and Advanced mode. The Normal version is designed to stay within original game's hardware requirements and should run well on every system. The save files from current mod won't be compatible with Normal version, only with Advanced, so if you have problems with current version, I would recommend waiting for the update before investing a lot of time in it, expect release this week. »

Found 'em. It's indeed in game_relations.ltx

The problem is there :

[action_points]
personal_goodwill_limits = -3000, 1000
community_goodwill_limits = -3000, 1000

No matter what you do you can never go above 1000 or under -3000, and a single bad word puts you back below friend status. Thus change it for :

[action_points]
personal_goodwill_limits = -10000, 10000
community_goodwill_limits = -10000, 10000

And you will be able to become really friendly ( or really hated ).

I just experienced my first post-Complete-install Emission.

That was ... magnificent. :o

To think that this game engine is able of all this, and they didn't put it in to begin with ... A shame !

Sort of, but it's a vanilla oversight : the vanilla reputations are capped at 1000 , and you need 1000 to be friend ... In other words, if you did so little as refuse to help a faction once and lost one mere reputation point, putting you at 999, you may end up never able to become « Friend Of ».

Just edit the file ( if I remember well it was STALKER_CoP\ gamedata\ configs\ creatures\ game_relations.ltx ) and put the max relation / cap / or whatever it's named at 10 000, that way you can correct a mistake and accumulate reputation points to avoid the « 999 = go die » effect.

No, it does not work on International versions. Neither do -nointro.
Many debug command line parameters were removed for whatever reason.
Are you using the Russian/Ukrainian version of the game perchance ?
