Bring me green women and blue ale!
The thing with Sins is that in most cases all ships, even those able to target strike craft, will prioritise larger ships. The pulse phasers and being able to effectively counter strike craft is something we're looking into.
Believe me the icons are something that you actualy do get used to fairly quickly.
That's not possible in Sins, unfortunately.
So you want an actual, full sized colony ship seen in the show to be down-scaled and used as a fighter, and a shuttle that seats seven or eight people to be scaled up and used as a colony ship?
I'm honestly not sure if you're being serious or not.
The Minor Factions DLC was arguably the best DLC pack for Sins to date.
You know that's not true.
Read: We don't have a f***ing clue.
All are welcome in AFT-fleet.
George R. R. Martin said it in one of his books, I believe.
It's based more on the original concept than the final model DSC for some reason decided to go with.
I don't see the difference, frankly. A screen is both safer and more versatile than a window. It can be used to magnify and augment images, filter out or enhance image light levels, show images from multiple angles or viewpoints, show tactical displays, offer convenient two-way face-to-face communications, etc. The Enterprise-D was able to fly into a star's corona and the bridge crew were able to observe without being blinded and without needing to close shutters or anything.
Plus I feel that the 'windows don't seem to be structural weaknesses' thing is a bit of a stretch. I find it hard to believe that a transparent material is going to be as strong as the bare metal that makes up the overwhelming majority of the ship's exterior surface. Federation ships have so many windows precisely because they're exploration ships, but the bridge needs to be both functional and well protected.
And yes, it's also better cinematically. "Captain I have something on sensors," "On screen", is beter than, "Captain, I have something on sensors, come over here and take a look at my console."
Display overlays, augmented reality, HUDs, etc., are fine for smaller displays like helmet visors or shuttle cockpits. But a massive window across the forward quarter of a massive starship's command center? I think not.
What difficulty level are you playing at?
They disgust me. I love them.
It's intentional that they're the most powerful ships, but not to this degree. We'll have to look at balancing the titans better.
Muh 50 Connies!
Happy Birthday for the other day, AFT-uncle!
Leetzelong's head will roll for this!
Hobbs' head will roll for this!
You may be thinking of the Yorktown model we had for our Axanar mod a few years ago. It was never planned to be used with AotF.
Thanks for the kind words and support, Dbiss. Remember that this is only the beta - there's plenty more to come! :)
They are indeed.
I feel Season 8 would have benefitted from having more episodes, tbh. The story is moving along at an...inconstistent pace. Honestly if they had more time to flesh out the story and weren't in such a rush to wrap things up I think it would be more satisfying.
But that's just my two cents.
Aren't Canadians famed for their sneakiness?
It's the final refit of the NX-class.
