The Forgotten Ones

Mod review

This mods biggest fault is it's optimization
so imma talk about how this baby handles.

my rig
GPU: GeForce GT 430
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
Memory: 2gb
Current Res: 1280 x 1024, 75Hz
OS: Win 7

Now I know my pc isn't gods gift to earth but the whole mod was lagging and there should be no reason for it. I start the game to find myself in a town and the entire time it lags, not horrible but it shouldn't happen in source, especially a mod.

Whats worse is the crashes, during the beginning of the mansion when I had gotten to the second enemy the game wigs out and crashes, on more than one ocasion.

some positives, the game did freak me out in the beginning, I had the option I would of turned my *** around once that thing popped up behind that guy upon entering the manor, so A for freaky enemies and enviroment.

Symphony

Game review

I love this arcade style music game, I love the vetrex style of graphics and how crazy it can get on screen, this game is perfect for just sitting down for half an hour and just rock out and kill demons who clearly work for Justin Beiber. I mean seriously, He's the only one who could be jelous of our -"our" as in the communitys- music.

Evil

Game review

After playing EVIL I felt the game was rather empty compared to the amazing things I saw previously. Such as the enemy models. No where in the game did we see them nor had to run from them, or even fight them, instead all the player did was walk through a demented art gallery (which i loved the art style, it was awesome) maybe there was a reason they didn't include them, maybe not, I'm not sure, i didn't see anything on the news page. Any whom, the jumping was not so good and i had a issue where my mouse sensitivity was very high, and was unable to change it within the games options.

Velvet Assassin

Game review

For what it is, this is decent game, the environment and sound design are really what make it shine, as for game play its hit or miss, when everything goes right then it's very fun, but if it doesn't and you die every 5 seconds cause you cant get past one part, then it takes you straight to your last checkpoint, and those are few and far between, that can be very unnerving for some people. the levels are exceedingly long, and the AI follows a specific route, so you must watch what they are doing while using the environment around you to stay hidden from enemies. mainly throughout the game you will be sneaking from shadow to shadow picking off enemies one by one, and then every so often at the end of a level, you will come across a part where you must run and gun as i'd like to say, things are exploding and you need to get from point A to point B in X amount of time while offing anyone in your way. that's where guns come in. Gun play in this game feels clunky, it feels like the main character has never held a gun before in her entire life. The only gun that is very effective is the Shotgun, but you have very few bullets so you must use them wisely. The pistols are only good if you can get a head shot, or to shoot barrels that may be explosive or contain toxic gas. but at the end of the day when everything is going right its so satisfying to sneak up on a unsuspecting person and just giving them a few stabs in the throat.

+
This game is challenging
The attention to detail is outstanding
the lighting effects set the mood perfectly
Interesting Story.
-
Poor firearm controls.
Can be frustrating when death is due to a control issue, and player must start back at the last checkpoint they passed.
+-
Patience is needed to play this game.
It's challenging
Loosely based on a real person, and her experiences.

Duke Nukem Forever

Game review

I'm giving sir Duke here a 9 out of 10.

My reasons.

-I personally enjoyed it, and didn't think it was horrid like more "professional" critics think. Though it is not better than DN3D -Pick DN3D up on your smartphone if you have one. :D-

-It looks fine, If you want Graphics like Crysis II, then get Crysis II The Visuals are up to par with modern standards on how shooters looks.

-It has a good size campaign

-there are negatives like a linear campaign, limited weapon slots, and regenerating health, and long loading times. but that's in the eye of the beholder. Personally none of those bother me.

End: I personally enjoyed myself this time around with Duke,I had no expectations at all when playing it, so I was not Disappointed. I say give this a rent, or play on a friends computer, and if you like it, pick it up!

F.E.A.R. 2

Game review

If i could say one thing that was improved from the original FEAR, I'd have to say the mapping. I personally feel that they improved a great deal on that. not that the original had bad map design, cause it didn't, FEAR 2 just had so much more detail within its hallways instead of the long bland corridors the 1st FEAR put us through. I feel some of the highlights of FEAR 2 was the parts where you had to fight your way through the ruins of the city, the destruction and attention to detail was beautiful. It helped make my experience in the game fast paced fun.

I give this game a 10 cause it took what FEAR did and made it better, i'm not just talking about the mapping now, i mean everything Game play, story telling, level design, all that jazz.
