The limitation has 2 reason :
1: A big battle with a lot of capships are hard to balance generally and finally the player would have a very minimal impact on the battle, wich may bore some players.
Actual fighter's we made aren't able to damage enough cap ship's they are space superiority.
2: When you overload the engine (despite a solid framerate) the engine doesn't detect anymore collision, it result by your bullets passing through your target's hull and making 0 damage to it wich is very frustrating.
Anyway we will make some big battle and test them untill the engine's limit.

Here is a view of the Tyrannic's fighter the Tf-Litebringer.
Light,fast, poor armored, it carries 2 light gun and 10 missiles.
However this is an effective ship for recon mission and for those who like speed, manoeuvrability and low inertia.
It's generally used a a first fighter ship for the new tyrannic's pilot.
A new generation of tyrannic's light fighter as been released but it's still not widely spread as the litebringer...
