I believe the most recent patches solve that (2.1 for vanilla, 1.3 for Venice - if you have Steam you will have to apply it manually, check this link if you do: Forums.steampowered.com)

What i find a complete pity is that there are no decent mods for this, i have only found one and it is pretty mediocre, and there is one addon to add more players in multiplayer but it is not completelly integrated into the game.

Isn't that one of the raptors from World of Warcraft ¬¬
