Description

The Allegiance is significantly longer than and resembles the Imperial-class Star Destroyer, thus provoking the Rebels to deem it a "Super Star Destroyer." The 2,200 meter long Allegiance-type Star Destroyer is a dedicated fleet destroyer with heavy armor and no real hangar bay, similar to the Tector-class. Unlike the Tector, the Allegiance's class has a large ventral bulb, implying a massive reactor and very powerful weapons and shields. The Allegiance was designed to coordinate large-scale attacks; exactly the function the Allegiance was serving at the Battle of Calamari.

Ships of this class were seen at several major battles. Four Allegiance-class ships were the primary escorts for the Emperor's flagship Eclipse when they moved on the Rebel base at Pinnacle Moon. The names of these vessels were never confirmed, and they were either scattered or destroyed by the Emperor's rampaging Force storm. No other Allegiance-class command ships have been positively identified, but it is possible that the Star Destroyer Shockwave was a derivative of this class.
