Looks good, plays ok. I'm not a fan of wide open areas, they remind me of Serious Sam more than Doom. Brutal Doom's gore doesn't get to shine in the distance, either. Still, it's technically impressive and offers a few decent gunfights.
Like the original Doom 2, but harder to move around due to irregular floor geometry, water in some levels and slightly more clutter. Generally looks nice, far more detailed than the original levels, probably even better without loading up Brutal Doom along with it as I did.
Simple, visceral, brutal.
