Reviews
Empire at War is an incredibly beautiful badass modification. The models and textures for the ships and units are some of the best if not the best I've seen to date in a Star Wars modification.
Positive:
Every single ship in the game that Jeroenimo has worked on is very high-res and incredibly beautifully and highly detailed. From being able to see every individual window to the weapon batteries actually moving to fire at their target and steam from the barrels of the weapon batteries (Many ships can actually acquire multiple targets)all help in making for a very cinematic and exciting experience. The visual effects, although having some bugs currently, are also very nice such as the turbolaser particle effects, explosions and special abilities.The variety of ships on offer are all very enjoyable to just stare at because of the amount of time and love spent on making them. You can tell the guy has a passion for creating these ships and it really shines through in his work. Some of the actual ships in the game are of Jeroenimo's own design and they definitely fit in with all the other ships formed up beside them.
Negatives:
There are currently problems as the mod is in very early stages such as some visual bugs related to explosion and the Vengeance frigate being insanely over-powered at the moment due to it's ability to attack and deal massive damage at very long ranges. There are also some obvious problems with other ships strengths, either being too powerful or too weak. Again, it's currently in very early stages. The Galactic Conquest is somewhat enjoyable but the suicidal AI gets very annoying very fast. The ground combat isn't enjoyable but that's the problem of the game itself. The ground combat was obviously a second thought when the game was in development way back in 2005-2006.
I very much look forward to the finished product and would go as far as to say that this is what Empire at War would be or better.
I don't really know how to rate this mod.. It feels like a troll in all honesty. The Lich King working with Vashj.. Naga and Demons? This makes no sense lore wise and the majority of the 'new' models are just ripped from World of Warcraft. Alot of bugs and also has very bad English which if the mod had a good backstory/plot etc then the bad English would certainly not detract from this.
I was excited when I first came across this mod as I've been a massive Warcraft fan since Warcraft III but this mod added nothing interesting in the least to the Warcraft story.
