You are going to need some dirt and scratches to the texture. Overlay some metal textures from the net to the existing texture to create a base, then use the burn and dodge tools to create scratches and dirt spots on areas you think are most likely to get damaged.
Also color some spots to break the uniform feel of the camo.
LOMAC...
That explains the hilarious abundance of aircrafts. :P
And yes I liked LOMAC too...
Also I would like to add that textures looks like absolute horror when rendered in Gmax. Never shows textured models using Gmax, try 3ds max or in-game.
A common problem when it comes to modeling is that modellers aren't exactly skinners... To be fair, unwrapping and texturing is a lot more complicated than making models, a LOT more complicated.
The dome part of the radar is unnecessarily high poly, it should look just as good being 1/3 the poly since you won't see it that close in game anyway...
Looks like a good unit to all in... Oh wait, wrong game.
The original designs looks nothing like my model. I'm just really bad at following designs. XD
2 hours of really, really terrible modeling well spent... :P
Also I'll seek to it on the textures now.
If you want a better texture, try titling some basic metal texture sheets over the existing texture. Those texture sheets are easily found online and can give you decent results...
Best of luck.
I just randomly thought of a name for them: Terra Knights (Or Knight Terras or what ever...).
I don't know if it even means anything but what the heck, marines or legionnaires are really generic and overused anyway...
I'm usually busy 99% percent of the time, but if you need graphics, call me. I'm always interested in making silly stuff...
A good show of what I can do for you:
Too bad the texture resolutions is rather small compared to the awesomeness of the model/textures...
2.5k poly model with 1024x1024 textures, runs absolutely smooth with no lag of any kind. This is quite impressive given that the unit spams projectiles and particle effects like crazy...
Strange, I never had problems with Generals when it comes to performance.
This is the Type-97E Matsuda, it fires at least 15+ projectiles at any given time (6x missiles and 9x cannon burst), all of them uses the Strategy Center Gun explosion sprites.
Yet even when 20 or more of them fires simultaneously on the screen, as you can see here, I suffer no performance loss. This is impressive given that the model is 2.5k tris, 1024x1024 texture size, and spam a ludicrous amount of projectiles...
Ever considered having an infantry unit that wear pants on their heads, screaming "PANTS AKBAR!!" when attacking?.
Given that it was made to slowly drive people insane... Yes, it was supposed to be awful.
:P
YOU MEAN THIS!?

Toothbrush gives you impact negations in real life?
Not realistic IMO
XD
