Sadly it's probably an issue with the base game, the unofficial doesn't add or remove any items and doesn't touch the campaign except the first mission. It sounds like a pretty annoying issue.

If it is caused by the unofficial patch, downgrade to the base game for the mission in question and that should resolve the issue. The unofficial patch doesn't have a heck of a lot of campaign testing - I hope that was the only serious issue you encountered.

If the mummy buff bothers you, it's probably not hard to revert - it was a bit of a leap to adjust the balance of them, but I didn't want to leave them as they were.

It definitely won't work over the top of Rise of Sols, as it modifies many of the same files.

As for discussion, I guess this is the only place. I'm not sure if I will return to work on HOAE, but I'm still open to comments.

I think the content of the mod has to be moved out of the data folder. I'm investigating the steam version now.

The patch02.gs1 file (from the mod) should be where the patch01.gs1 file resides. For some reason the game has a slightly different data structure on the steam version, argh.

This is one of the most impressive mods I've seen, from the weapons and weapon-mod system, to the RPG-style floating damage numbers and shield system which requires you to switch up your weaponry. Very entertaining playing even the original quake single-player levels.

My closest comparison would have to be borderlands, only borderlands is a complete walk in the park compared to playing this on hard!

Pretty awesome update of a professional mod. Loved the old painkeep, but it always taunted me because back then I had no real way to play multiplayer thanks to quakes terrible netcode.

It feels a bit .. featureless compared to most stuff these days, but it's a solid deathmatch you can't get anywhere else :)

Epic mod :)

Plays just like serious sam. It'd be nice a bit of quality control on some of the models though hahah.

Could use Runequake style runes or "exp" that translates from kills into random abilities for a player over the course of a map. Or maybe collectable stacking powerups on the field to give the player more of a reason to roam around. I'm not sure how the current spawn routine works, but if they constantly got stronger it'd go well with stacking power-ups.

The magic sawblade is a bit overkill also, you can practically afk using it, everything else overkill seems pretty reasonably balanced because it's possible to actually die using them.

10/10 for fun. Hope you continue to update it.
