I am an old school player, I have both retail and steam version. But I prefer the retail version.
DRM version can not exist forever. Steam did not promise permanent service. One day steam offline, relic offline. The final version of COH will still be 2.602. Retail version is the Truth.
Most COH hardcore players play COH since retail version released
and Most steam players, just buy, no play. They are social network players.
Most game mods still base on retail version, so you should change your work base on the retail version 2.602, just make compatibility fix for 2.700.2.42
