Hey, thanks for asking. So far I've released the following (besides Simpler Times and Der Zorn Gottes which I believe you played):
Back in Business episode (4 levels, "mission oriented" with heavy backstory): Moddb.com
Submachine (single level, but quite long and complex): Moddb.com
The Conundrum episode (6 short levels, based on puzzles so might take a while to finish): Moddb.com

Now I started working on a 5th and final level for Back in Business. I do have plans for some more stuff in the future... ;)

Hah, this is something that would be so useful to have in regular Build/Mapster :D Glad to see your progress on this, the engine looks very promising and might be a natural step-up from Mapster I'll take in the future for more flexibility.

Glad you finally managed to play the map, appreciate your patience with it and congratulations on the completion and secrets! There are some extra supplies dropped towards the end fight around the streets and marked with red flares in the sky, not sure if you've found them - but if you still could finish the overlords, it was not that bad I guess :) You can also check Radar's video with all of the secrets marked to see what you missed: Moddb.com

Thanks for playing the map and your feedback, really appreciate it!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed reading it :) It's really cool when even people who never played the game can appreciate such stuff!

32-bit shouldn't make any difference, but you need a fairly recent version of EDuke32. You should have the file DUKE3D.GRP from your retail version of Duke Nukem 3D, doesn't matter where you purchase it from, this is where the game data is stored. Files settings.cfg and eduke32.cfg are not mandatory and will be created by EDuke32 upon launching if they are not in the directory, but they can help with keeping your settings like key mapping etc.

In case you can run Duke Nukem but it doesn't see the map, you can try unpacking SIMPLER_TIMES.GRP file, it's a normal ZIP archive with just the extension changed, if you unpack all the files from it into the main Duke directory, it should work as well, just will clutter the directory with files.

Hey mate, thanks for your comment and your interest in my levels!

Sorry you are having problems with launching the mod. I've tried to keep the installation as clean as possible and provided the video instructions as simple as I could. It would be easier to solve the problem if you could let me know what error are you stumbling across.

I suppose one thing I didn't originally take into account was providing only 64-bit version of EDuke32, so if your system is 32-bit, it won't run it. I have now provided additional downloads for both "Simpler Times" and "Der Zorn Gottes" that include a 32-bit version of EDuke32 instead, hope that helps.

Also, the map will not be compatible with "Blast Radius" or other mods, as it uses slightly modified code and art of its own.

Cheers!

Hey man,

Thanks for playing and taking your time to write the reviews for The Conundrum and Back in Business, I really appreciate it!

As for the weird visual glitches you have experienced, I think they might be a result of playing in Classic video mod rather than Polymost, for which the mod was designed (or maybe using an unsupported older version of EDuke32 - unfortunately there's a lot of versions floating around, sometimes with very small changes that are significant for some mods/maps).

Still glad you seemed to have a good time with them :)

It's intended for EDuke32, version r8930 onwards, due to the use of some specific features (i.e. sloped sprites, texture rotation). There is also some new art and a few changes in codes (no new enemies/weapons), but nothing that would drastically change the gameplay - most innovative stuff in that aspect is done through mapping tricks. Nevertheless, it should look and feel like vanilla Duke3D, just with more plot and objective-based levels ;)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'm planning more maps, not necessarily direct sequels to Submachine, but I like implementing puzzle elements. You can check out my other recently release mod, "Back in Business" (it's on ModDB). For puzzle based maps by other authors, I'd recommend stuff like "Naked Dash", "Duketroid", "Nitroglycerin" or "Preparing for Christmas" ;)

Yes, you can only use each keycard once ;) But don't worry, there's enough keycards for every slot within the map - it's just up to you which one you place first (in case of yellow cards).

Thanks, and here I was thinking I'm the only one who enjoys both Duke and Submachine :D Beta-testing and polishing the map will probably take quite a bit now, as I want to make sure the experience is fun and not frustrating/too obscure.

The GRP file should be in a separate directory (as is in the archive) in your EDuke folder. Choose that directory when launching the game from "Custom game content directory" menu. Also make sure there are no USER.CON, GAME.CON or DEFS.CON files in your main EDuke directory or no Tiles014.art or Tiles015.art files, as they would automatically take priority over the files in the GRP. It's probably best to just run the mod on a clean EDuke installation (with only EDuke files and regular DUKE3D.GRP in the directory). Hope this helps!
