Nice work guys! I worked on this game for quite a few years creating models, textures, animations and translating it all into the game engine; for me to see a lot of my work still being used today in a fully playable game is fantastic! I wish you guys the best and I hope to see this ported to newer, more capable engine one day! I'll keeping an eye on the progress!

Think of it this way; the development process goes faster for both mods when two teams are working on a project which mainly have the same assets. Each modification can use each others assets, both mods are released in half the time, us players have something awesome to play sooner.

I don't know about you but I'd like to play one of these awesome mods before 2009.

I'll give you a little hint, the online mode doesn't check for a unique key so you can grab any one you can find online.

Also, I don't think the netcode is too bad.

Thanks, I will fill you guys in on a few details about the engine. The engine is actually incredibly durable, It's polygon limits are amazing. It can hold up with 120,000 polygons per map with Generated VIS sectors. Which is quite a bit. Weapons usually run around 1600 to 2600 polygons, Vehicles around 2000-3000 polygons, characters about 3000 polygons.
Textures are the only thing which kill the engine, The max size for weapons and vehicles are 1024x1024. Right now all out weapon textures are 1024x1024 and I couldn't notice a significant FPS drop. Once it is all thrown together we will see how it runs.
We are doing our best to push this engine to it's absolute limits, We won't dissapoint you guys.

The renegade engine is not to be underestimated. It's starting showing it's age but with the source code to this engine, we could push it even farther. I wish we could somehow get it.

There seems to be a few good Red alert 2 mods for generals. They all seem to be progressing pretty slow though, one needs modelers but has texture artists, another has models but needs texture artists.
You should all combine and make one excellent Red alert 2 mod. One can possibly work on a SP, the other can work on the strucuture of gameplay?

Sounds better than having 4 mods based on the same thing.

My first gripe...would have to be the render style. It's exactly like Nosferatu's renders, except with crap media.

My second would have the be the model/polycount comparison. Some of those models look too low detailed to be that high in polygon count.

Third, the textures look concrete.

But hey, if your aming to push out a first release and get a solid gameplay style going, who can complain about media at this point? I've seen tons of mods release there first build with **** media and go back and finely tune there gameplay and media. They usually turn out great.
