To all those looking for a "follow-up" of this game -> Indiedb.com or Forums.planetpokemon.net

That game has nothing to do with pokemon generations but it shares the same basic concepts and ideas; so people looking for a pokemon 3D project to invest time in should look over there...

Yo, Actual-Xatoku here,

Don't donate to the IndieGoGo, as I can assure you it is a fake. The project is cancelled and is not coming back under any circumstances. The existence of this campaign not only endangers Nintendo, but all of the developers who worked on PokeGen. It's copyright infringement. As simple as that.

If whoever made it reads this, for the the love of all things holy, take it down. It is going to cause extremely serious and unnecessary problems if you don't.

Thanks,
Jordan

I honestly thought we'd be alright, but without getting too much into it, the tables simply turned. Had to make a call, this was it. It sucks, but it's better this than leading you on any further.

Thanks for understanding. Sucks, but life's like that, I suppose.

Wish we could, man, but the game was just taking too much of a toll with no real gain apart from fueling all of our nostalgia. For what it's worth, it wasn't an easy call to make.

I can assure you that I am the person who wants to see this project flourish the most, but you're right, I can't handle it.

I'm grateful for how long you've stuck around and supported the project, but if you really knew the nature of why the game was cancelled, you'd know that the other co-developer left many months ago. I don't want pity, but understand that I never intended to helm the project on my own, and doing so just got to the point where it was proving to be more detrimental than enjoyable.

In the end, the majority of the mechanics were gutted from the game to make room for new ones, so handing it off at this point would be fruitless. If people are truly interested in another Pokemon Fan-Game, then they'd be better off starting one on their own than using what little I've put together.

If we're honest with ourselves, the project was hardly far enough along to be worth handing to somebody else. Interested folks would probably be better off just restarting, as by the end of it, the majority of mechanics were gutted.

That said, as I take it you've been around for a while, I appreciate all your support thus far. Reading that it has potential means a hell of a lot, and I'm sorry for turning my back on you folks, but as I explained in better context over at the forums, it's just impractical.

Thanks, that was a really thoughtful comment ^.^. We'll be adding a spawning system alongside learning moves in the future.

We're in the process of reworking the catching system, and this just sort of happened. 99% sure it won't be used for EVERY time we toss a Poke Ball, but I think it'll show up here and there ;)

New one will be replacing the old ones, and a new female model is going to be made soon.

Howdy again, old friend. Thanks for the critique! The "cornrows" are fixed, and the character(s) have been given outlines for some subtle consistency.

As for their being hand painted, it's to set them apart from the Pokemon and keep the humans closer to home while the Pokemon retain their fantastical elements.

On a side note, I noticed no objections to the energy ball, hah. Wonder why that is.

Zielan has a point. We already use outlets that do this, so the only logical reasoning as to why you're doing it is attention for yourself.

On top of that, I didn't ever endorse you to make it. I showed you every sign of why it would be a bad idea, and then told you, literally, that "I can't stop you, either." It is not in my power to tell you what to do, only to help guide your decisions. You ignored that direction from what is clearly a bad idea (hence the backlash).

And on top of THAT (this is like a sandwich of bad!) Steam Greenlight is an outlet I might legitimately intend to use in the future. Having somebody who isn't me representing my name after I nicely asked them not to would be extremely detrimental to both my 'career' and PokeGen's existence.

All of that aside, Greenlight is a program to help developers get their games on Steam. PokeGen can't get on Steam, period. The page literally (just like the Facebook page from awhile back) has no purpose. Again, your call, but hopefully now you can make an informed decision instead of just a personal one.

Hah, it'll probably take a lot longer considering we're not doing this full-time, but I agree that more folks helping out on the art-side would really speed things up.
