Thanks alot for getting back to me. I upped the param scale but it doesn't seem to be what's making those textures so brilliant in those pics you've posted above. I believe you did those changes in photoshop. Would you be willing to send me a zipped up copy of your mod with all those changes? I'd just replace mine with it. I would GREATLY appreciate this. I've PM'd you my E-Mail.

If it's easier to just use an upload site like tinyupload instead, that works too. I'd really appreciate you doing this for me.

Thanks alot for getting back to me. Would you be willing to send me a copy of your mod with your POM and specular map settings or just a copy of those modified files? I'll give you my E-Mail in private message.

Hey Wulfen, I've tried messaging you on the Doom3World forums as well as these forums. I'd like to know how you got the intensity of your POM so high.

I've noticed in the pics you posted your POM is far more intense than it is using the POM you provide in your mod. I've gotten POM to work just fine, it's just not as intense as it is in those pics you've posted.

How did you increase the intensity? Is their a setting within the mod that increases it? Is it the interaction.vfp and test.vfp settings within the glprogs folder that allows for increased POM intensity? If so, can you please tell me how to increase POM intensity to the level that it is at in those pics you've posted? If it's easier for you, could you send me a copy of your POM settings? I'd greatly appreciate it. Please get back to me on this. I'm really eager to take my POM to the max.

Wulfen, I sent you a message on the Doom3World forum and this forum asking about your POM intensity. Can you tell me how to increase the intensity of POM? I've noticed your POM is far more intense than it is with the default POM enabled. I've correctly enabled POM but it's far less intense. Is it adjustable within the interaction.vfp and test.vfp settings? Please help me out with this. I've been awaiting a response for about two weeks now.

If their's something you adjusted within your mod to increase the intensity of POM, could you send me a copy of your modified settings so I can play with that level of POM? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh, I see. My rig is pretty top of the line. I was wondering why my FPS dips to around 40 at certain moments while using your mod. It makes sense now. The engine isn't capable of fully utilizing the latest hardware.

I just couldn't upgrade to 6.0 because I've made so many tweaks. I would have to go back through months and months of changes and change so many things. I can't even remember how many things I've changed since it's been so much.

As far as framerates go, that wouldn't be a problem. My rig is sick (just under five grand custom built). I'm running two GTX 570s in SLI on a liquid cooled i7 2600k CPU, through an Asus premiere Z-68 chipset motherboard. I've got the works. I max out BF3 without skipping a beat (maintaining an average of 80 FPS, dipping no lower than 60 at any given time).

I go by my post name john2earth. I'm in VvV clan. You can check out our forums at vvvbattalion.com. We have 6 servers, although it's pretty tough to keep any of them populated other than our Caspian server, since it's built up quite a name for itself.

Hey VGames, how've you been? I haven't spoken to you since September. Since then, I've built a top of the line gaming rig, and have been playing alot of Battlefield 3. I started playing it with my clan at the start of the beta in September and have been helping moderate our dedicated servers ever since.

As you remember, I began tweaking your mod with the release of 5.0 and continued tweaking right up until patch 5.4. My tweaks also include that awesome texture pack you released back in June. I must say, 6.0 is nice, but I just don't care for it like I do 5.4, so I've stuck with tweaking 5.4. Now I've finally finished tweaking it and am completely satisfied with the way it is now. Thanks alot for all the hard work you put into this mod, and for teaching me what you have about modding. I've taken what you've created with Perfected Doom 3 Mod and tweaked it to suit my personal taste. I couldn't have done it without you.

In the back of my mind, I knew it wouldn't take long for me to change my mind. I've decided their's alot of things within my own version of Perfected Mod that I just can't play without. I'm going to dissect 6.0 much like I did with 5.0 originally, and implement what I like from it into my mod.

Don't worry. This time, I won't be pestering you with newbie modding questions. I've decided to learn on my own this time around. Regardless, 6.0 is awesome. I'll be sure to rate it up.

I just gave 6.0 and I've gotta say that it's quite amazing. I'm so impressed with it I've decided to scrap my own tweaks and just play 6.0

Good job man. This is probably as close to finished as Doom 3's ever going to get.

Would I be able to extract the Sikkmod changes from 6.0 and add them to 5.4? I've done so many tweaks of my own now that I'd like to move stuff from 6.0 over to 5.4 piece by piece so I don't lose what changes I've made thus far.

Awesome work. What I'd like to do is keep my current copy of Perfected Mod since I've done alot of changes of my own to it and just extract the Sikkmod implementation from 6.0 and add them to it. Upon 6.0's release, could you tell me how to do that?

Good Job VGames on the green disintegration effects for the Baron of Hell. Very nice. I'm also quite impressed with the new Double Barrel Shotgun firing sound. It sounds pretty bad ***. Much better than the previous one. All in all a very good patch indeed.

I'm on Steam and haven't gotten the problem mentioned above. I've looked through the files and removed parts of it while leaving others in to suit my needs so that might've corrected whatever's causing the bug. I'm guessing whatever is causing the problem for you has to do with the autoexec file included within. I'm not using it since I have alot of customizations already made within the autoexec so try skimming through that file and seeing if something is off. It may also have something to do with the GUI changes to the options menu (I removed those changes for the time being).

Wow. These textures look absolutely amazing. You did a phenomenal job. These textures resemble Parallax Occlusion Mapping. The color changes you made to surfaces look so good. Stone surfaces look far more realistic. Pentagrams look much bolder on surfaces now and not just drawn on. Metallic surfaces look much more photo realistic. Looks like you've brought all of those surfaces further out, resembling a tessellation like effect.

GUI textures look much better now too. The main menu's stars as well as the loading screens look far bolder and truly high definition. Good job on Hell's loading screen especially. The skull looks awesome.

The enemy textures look astounding, especially the Branded Hellknight and Cyberdemon's. I'm really impressed with just how well you touched up their skins. I love the touch up you did on arm hair. They look like real arms now. Armor looks alot bolder now too. Also love the textures you added to the Shotgun and the BFG.

Good job. You should be really proud of yourself.

Np. Something else I found which could be implemented in a future patch is the Chainsaw being bound to a key. IT's the only weapon not able to be bound. I'm guessing that's because before you couldn't select both the Fist and the Chainsaw. If you had a Chainsaw before, you couldn't select the Fists whereas now you can. If you can, you should edit the Controls menu to also include it. Could set it to the - or + key. Personally, I'd edit my controls so the Chainsaw is key 1, Fists key 2, Pistol key 3, etc.

As far as Motion Blur, yes, you can remove it without touching any other features. I have Motion Blur, Bloom, and DoF disabled. You can disable any of these features within the Doom Config file. Some are also controlled within the AutoExec file. For those which share places in both, you need to disable the effects in both files. You can also tweak the effects within those files, to an extent.

I don't think Mod DB has posted his Texture Pack download yet since it's not appearing on his downloads page. It should be up within the next day or so I believe, if it's like 5.3.0 patch was. Keep checking back and it should be up soon.

I was looking at the upcoming texture pack and I must say, it looks impressive. Will it be a separate patch from Perfected Mod like the 5.1 patch was? I'm hoping so, I'd like to keep all the tweaks I've already made, so if you could keep the patch separate from Perfected Doom 3 Mod, that'd be great.

Also, I couldn't find the patch you listed which fixes the Soulcube not remaining in your inventory for the Delta Complex level following Hell. Where can I download that along with the Chaingun and BFG low ammunition fixes and your new Chaingun firing sound?

I apologize for so many questions on tweaking this mod in such a short amount of time. I'm trying to eliminate some of the lag from the glow effects. If their's no way to make the tweaks, it's no problem.

Can you please tell me how to remove the green glowing effect on the Baron of Hell? I want it to appear like it dies by default. Only the eyes glow red and it has a skin similar to the Hellknight, only brown. I'd also like to remove the burning effect on the Chainsaw. I like the blood on it but don't want it to glow red hot or have the burning effect on enemies. I've tried changing the model files to no avail. How would I go about doing this? I'd greatly appreciate it if you could tell me how to make these changes.

You have to tweak the settings to get the best picture. The preset settings aren't optimized.

This mod is the best I've come across. My only disappointments with it were the Chainsaw's consumption of Plasma Cells and the substantial increase in enemy health. What I did to remedy these was change the Chainsaw's properties back to their default values as well as some other weapon modifications such as the Chaingun and Plasma Gun's firing speed. I also increased the ammunition found within weapon pickups as well as their large ammunition pickup capacities. I feel by doing this it's alot better of a solution than to have the enemy's health values reset. Enemies are too easy by default and this provides a comfortable balance.

To Bersek yes, Sikkpin has been working on parallax occlusion mapping for Doom 3. You can find the files at Doom 3 World. I'd provide the link but I haven't been a registered member here long enough yet to include links in my comments due to spambot protection.

Perfected Doom 3 Mod is an incredible mod. Thank you VGames for creating it. I can tell alot of work went into it. This is definitely the closest Mod I've been able to find to the unreleased GX2 Mode that was floating around on YouTube but was never released. Good Job.

Hello Ana. I just read your comment and wanted to reply to it with a possible solution. I'm very new to modding and have only recently began learning how to get them running. If you're receiving an blue API DLL error, chances are you need to download a .zip file referred to as "Mod Helper". It contains two files you need to place into the folder of any Mod you download for Doom 3. The purpose of these two files is to allow you to play Mods which were created for patch 1.3. If your Doom 3 client is currently up to date, it will be patch 1.3.1, which most Mods created for 1.3 will not be compatible with, unless you place those two files into the Mod's folder. I'm going to also PM this to you in case you don't check back to this page.

Hey everyone. I'm fairly new to the modding community. I've really enjoyed playing through Doom 3 and only recently began looking around for mods. I found the rumored GX2 Mod floating around on YouTube which looked to be the best. However, it was never released and the poster hasn't logged on in over a year. I downloaded the GTX graphics mod, which is pretty sweet. I then found Sikk's mod which looked awesome but from what I've read it needed alot of manual tweaking once downloaded so I didn't bother with it. Yesterday I happened to stumble across this one and it really impressed me. I downloaded it, extracted it, and only had to place the two 1.3.1 files into it's folder to get it running. I can tell alot of work has gone into this mod and I'm really having alot of fun with it. I see VGames uploaded it so I'm assuming you created it. With that said, I want to thank you VGames for a job well done. I created an account here just to personally thank you for making this game so much more enjoyable. I'm playing through the game on Marine difficulty with no cheats and have made it to the Vagary in the Alpha Labs. Have you been able to defeat her without cheats?
