Over the years, I have had many an Idea for a mod based on the Half-Life 2 Alpha/Beta storyline, however most never made it past a few maps. The bulk of the problems have been with Source SDK's very lengthy compile time. In order to combat this, I am gonna be getting a massive ram and processor update soon, with the graphics update already in motion. With at least 16 gigs of ram and an i7 920, I hope to speed up compile times and allow much faster changes. If all works out, I will begin work on a new idea for a Half-Life beta atmosphere game, involving heavy Soviet references.

So apparently ram doesn't help one bit. ****, might have to switch to UDK or RAGE kit.
