Yeah they are only known as Fellbeasts, Nazgul birds and Wyrms in the books.

"They were once Men. Great kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them Nine Rings of Power. They took them without question. One by one, falling into darkness. They are the Nazgûl. Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead."

Which is odd cause in the return of the king Angmar says to Aeowen, do not stand between a nazgul and its prey just before ot was gonna feast on Theoden after he fell. I think PJ needs to read the book again then, referring to fellbeasts as the nazgul is wrong.

Uhm, ive been visiting this site for 2 years and have their full release for oblivion, only installed for their work. And the first sentence in my post ended with a question mark, so obviously I dont assume any are fans, and only assume their talent could make a very worthy Ocarina of Time conversion. Sorry of I sound snappy, but I want them to take the idea seriously as Zelda fans, if any do exist.

And sadly this is the only channel my meager mind knows to reach them, sorry for my ignorance but om fully aware that their may be better ways to reach them, at 3 am I dont care to look em up. Probably just invalidated my point, but f*** it like anyone would consider it anyways.

Hey ME»RP DEVS are you guys fans of the Zelda saga? Theres this young modder on nexus whos got about 10 percent done a hyrule world with pretty much all the locations form ocarina of time there, and he really needs help. Seeing as you guys could prolly pump out a mod like that in like 2 months, could you maybe see if your into the project? He will never release it complete cause hes so green but his vision is there and it looks damn good for just a hyrule rebuild.

I already said that n got denied. Mainly because they said the sheer timeline of it all was to immense. Even my idea of following the Noldor or something got shut down lol. I wish they would try this tho.

Hey guys, would you play a mod that was a satire of the events happening here on MERP but based in a fantasy realm? I am wondering if you guys ditched all ties to the lotr world, and only kept your tesselated landmass and basic architecture in tact, could you make a satire with all original cast and
location names item names etc, but done in a satire as to hint of the original feeling of the mod. I hope that makes sense to everyone.

And maybe sneak in some people from the community as quest characters or something as a hat tip, and even yourselves as devs and your battles through this. Perhaps Im crazy i donno sounds kinda intriguing.

maybe if the older gents at SZC had a kid that was aware of the mod that would happen. I doubt they will even research this project. Seem like people only care about making those dollars and if u do something better then them for free, prepare to pay.

everything most people are saying is speculation. Best advice is to wait for an official news feed to come out when all this is said and done which may take a year or two as big suits usually do, unless they settle. Either way, take peoples advice with a grain of salt, even mine. No one here can say for sure whats happening, unless they are involved with the suit, which they arent. As for erunamo, I like your active responses, but i would like a positive atmosphere, so much doom n gloom here lately.

I donno the quotes from T.E sound liek they are not happy about the online exploitations from Lotr online mmo. Impretty sure the 80 mill is to compensate for the profits WB made of it without proper rights ownership. From the quotes at least. I donno how old the guy was to call em online slot machine tho lol.

I dont think so, If I get this right it says they are being sued for there ``digital online slot machines.`` AKA, there online games where you play for free and pay for content. It says that T.E is upset at the exploitation of theyre fans. SO in fact what they are suing WB over is the FACT WB has rights only to TANGIBLE products. Not virtual. Since mods are not tangible, they are not violating WBs rights. If you read the Gamespot article you will see the T.E quotes saying WB is USURPING Tolkein Estates`rights, and are wanting 80 million for the damage done to us, the fans. :) Im like 80% sure that is what they are saying on the gamespot article.

THIS IS BIG NEWS FOR MERP!!!!

Almost as if Tolkein Estates was directly in the corner of the Team here on MERP. I quote,

"Not only does the production of gambling games patently exceed the scope of defendants' rights, but this infringing conduct has outraged Tolkien's devoted fan base, causing irreparable harm to Tolkien's legacy and reputation and the valuable goodwill generated by his works."

I am so happy I cant stop smiling, I want to hear what the Devs think of this : ) I hope it means that all bets are off and you can start up right away without a lift on the CnD, this pretty much means Tolkein Estates is defending the Middle Earth Mod fanbase by telling WB off. WB only has rights for TANGIBLE products, suck it WB I hope you lose more then 80 000 000 dollars and all your online enterprise!

Dear Merp Team :)

If all else fails, God willing the system doesnt kill progress in the name of corporate greed. I am just wondering if you still have rights to your digital properties that you have spent years developing, and if so, what are your plans with it? I hope that perhaps you could release a mod that at least let the fans see what could have been. Pretty much a empty world space with empty cities and settlements and a cheat box with all the gear and a horse or something in middle of nowhere. And a map for kicks. I know its a sad shadow of what it was supposed to be, but at the very least, all the people following this and supporting it and all your guys` long hours can be seen and the project could possibly live on in different ways...

I think you could pull it off with some really creative thinking. Perhaps if you made completely linear characters and made your own story. Why let the landmass go to waste, not saying it will be fingers crossed lol. But I think if you did a fairly original linear story to whatever Tolkein tale you please it would be legal. Cause then its your creation. Your okay to base it in middle earth right, just as long as nothing looks like its from the films or games?

Hmmm I donno. This is all such a shame... Middle Earth is big enough for the Warner Bros. and the Fans, isnt it? :(

but i mean by silmarillain is a simple quest based around the defeat of morgoth. And also, thats whay I said keep it queit. They cant stop a mod they dont know exists, and u cant sue someone if they can legit say that no works by WB exist around silmarillina and Morgoth spare the smallest reference that doesnt even exist in the films. They need to realize that they have a right to make a mod based on a fantasy. They just need to not do anything that WB has done yet.

"Warner Bros. lawyer: Thank you for confirming that you have complied with our request to cease development. We have considered your proposal to turn the mod into a private project, and while we appreciate and commend you for your creativity and willingness to address our concerns, we cannot authorize the MERP team’s use of the LOTR/Hobbit properties in the mod, whether as a private project or otherwise. Accordingly, we cannot agree to your request to resume development."

Simple solution. Act outside of LOTR and The Hobbit. Do silmarillian, cause we all know WB, ahem, WILL NEVER EVER MAKE THAT MOVIE! The sheer scale is far too vast. Now assuming WB will never see these words, and the Devs will, act fast. Start charting the quests for when the Noldor left Arda or whatever sorry im weak on lore but you get the point. I hope you get what I mean cause if you can change your scope a little and aim for the characters out of Silmarillian you wont be stepping on their toes correct? And so I bet it will take at least 3 years for that film to be made if they started already which they didnt. That gives you a minimal 3 to all the years you want to make a truly amazing Tolkein mod for skyrim, just do a part of Silmarillian. Thats my advice. And keep it very quite as to not let THEM aka, the great enemy, aka WB know or else they will start a production to C and D you again.

P.S Devs if you like my idea please let me know. I know I f`ed up before with angry posts but if you feel the energy off a fantastic first age Tolkein mod, I hope you take it to heart. Anyways good luck through and through.

but even if u made a height map all done up with trees and the proper climates, like finish it, just dont implement any quests or key characters. Maybe they could even build the cities, so long as no quest with no big names are in it. Prolly a long shot but a map with the climates and environments would rock. Like oyu would see middle earth before elf. The first like 10 pages of silmarillian would be yours to behold. Bring your northern rangers camping kit lol.
I love that mod
