Kinda boring and extremely lackluster. Not to mention the bad gameplay mechanics such as no weapons and the extremely fast enemies.

I used to work alongside with the team of Mental Omega. I really loved this mod, it was 10/10 in my scale but as time passed, I think Speeder lost its touch on the mod and the mod itself lost its magic.

It is undeniable that this mod has a lot of content, and they put a lot of effort into development, but since most of the original members of the Mentalmeinters are gone, there is a lack of originality, fantasy and of course efficiency. Overall the mod is just bloated and a lot of things are not polished. Less is sometimes more as they say.

It has been many years since Act 2 debuted and Speeder and his current team just don't seem that they want to deliver the last of the act 2 missions. As an insider secret to all who might not know this: at least 2 of the final act 2 missions are in beta phase for like 3 and 4 years. Even the grander Act 1 missions didn't take this long. While people are kept waiting, Act 1 has been overhauled like 3-4 times in a span of these years, the Act 1 which I think most players at this point won't even replay.

Most new missions are indeed spectacular but they feel like watching a movie and not fun to play at all because they are just way too big and way too many things happen in them.

I could say a lot of things about this mod as it was part of my life but I'd just give some closing thoughts. The mod should have ended ages ago with dignity but it seems like that it is locked in a perpetual cycle of new content and rebalancing. Speeder, you told me many times that you just no longer want to work on this mod. This was in 2014-2015 and look how many years have passed and you are still not even close to finishing it. The new content is just lacking, you are just pushing stuff out not because you want to, but because your ego dictates it.

Update: Modifying my rating from 6 to 4. Final missions have extremely poor performance with lots of FPS drops. On videos they look epic and everything but they are poorly unoptimised and borderline unplayable if you don't have a really good PC.

It's a really great mod, I appreciate a lot of work behind it. I really love that the mod extended the original worlds, but I'll be honest: Khorata feels really unnecessary and boring. The world is just huge, but plain, simple and just agonizingly boring. I'll get to play it through some time later.

I've completed it. I have to say that overall this is the best Gothic mod I have played so far, although I would like to share some criticism:

What I liked:
+The camps
+The new content
+The overall atmosphere
+The story

The things I disliked:
-The absurd difficulty (lvl 5 character on Easy was just not enough, I used cheats to set it to lvl15, but it was still really difficult, I don't think it's possible to do it with such a low level character)
-The lack of hints at many quests
-Questline bugs (for example if you join the water mages and then you'd like to fight in the arena, you can't because your opponent will be killed by the other NPC)

I believe this mod is really great and I'm looking forward to playing the second part of it!

It's rare to see such quality creation. At times it felt like playing some sort of Amnesia spin-off. I can see that the creator(s) put a lot of effort into this mod and indeed it was worth playing it through. The atmosphere is really well done and the setting was charming too. The puzzles were clever and the monster encounters, while not too difficult, some required different approach than in the original Amnesia. Overall I recommend this mod for everyone, who loves Amnesia or simply for every horror game fan.

I give 10/10 because this game makes an awesome game even more awesome. 1.0 is good and 2.0 looks will be the most awesome thing which can happen to Gothic 2. I actually like the thought that there are people who mod this game.
