Extremely well-made and comprehensive semi-realism mod with a dedicated fanbase. Only one or two things prevent me from giving BK a perfect score.
1. The extensive unit rosters and doctrines can be somewhat overwhelming to new players, and often result in the same roles being fulfilled by a plethora of different units. It feels as though many community-made models were incorporated simply because they could be, or for novelty value. As a result the mod sometimes lacks a clear-cut sense of unit individualism and synergy.
2. The unforgiving style of play (whilst being BK's most beloved feature) also mitigates vCoH's dynamic gameplay somewhat. Because advancing units can be killed in seconds by entrenched enemies, players are less inclined to move around the map offensively, which can often result in stagnant, protracted games.
That said, for fans of CoH with a hankering for more content and more realism, BK is well worth checking out.
