They used SDL-1.3 and one of the major features of SDL-1.3 is haptic support. So I don't really understand why the force feedback was developed to work with only the 360 controller on Windows. If they used the haptic API provided by SDL-1.3 then controllers that support iforce on Linux would work. Anyway, I was able to make my xboxdrv controller work with Trine 2, minus rumble, by pretty much configuring it to work the way it does with the xpad driver.

The game is working very well for me on Gentoo AMD64 but I only get sound when I run in Windowed mode.

I have already purchased both episodes for PC back in the day, I purchased the Xbox game (they were combined), I purchased SSam2 for Xbox, the GameCube exclusive game, and the HD versions of these games on XBLA. I already have the linux bins running with the data from my PC copies. Regardless, I am willing to buy both these games once again if the Linux side is supported without the "beta" label on Desura.

I used the support feature at the bottom of the page to ask about Desura support. The reply was that "we are trying" but they can't guarantee keys because it is out of their control or something to that affect.
