25 years old and mainly an RTS player. I'm a massive Star Wars fan, love the old classics, KOTOR, Jedi Academy and all that. Most played game is by far Empire At War. Had it since the day it came out. Now Im not a modder. I dont know how to make models, textures and things like that. But due to just how much time i've spent on Wookieepedia and reading source material over the years I have a keen eye for unit balancing. I do A LOT of editing XML files in mods like Republic at War and the Empire at War Remake to suit my own vision. If anyone is in need of advice on EAW, FOC or their associated mods full stop please dont hesitate to message me, if any modders need someone to focus on XMLs whilst they do other stuff im always happy to help. UPDATE OCT '19 - I have recently started playing STO again so have taken a big backseat with my modding stuff.

Awakening of the Rebellion 2.8

Mod review

I just left 2 massive comments explaining just how insanely good this mod is. Finally ground combat has been made as epic and immersive as space combat has been on various mods for years. Its done something I personally dont think any other mod has managed to achieve. Not including all of the additions and changes to space and GC. A true game overhaul.

Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War

Mod review

I have barely any words for this mod, it truly is amazing and i haven't even been able to play 90% of it as im stuck with an old computer so i have to play my own custom skirmish maps. Nonetheless it is so much fun with the new ships and incredible graphics.

My only issue is the performance issues, specifically with the new planet backdrops. My computers (both my non gaming desktop and my old gaming laptop) have trouble with these big time. It lags and drops FPS to 4 or 5 which is ridiculous. However as mentioned above I've made my own maps to play on and it runs fine. Also managed to turn the camera away from a planet on the new maps and it sped up tenfold so the new backdrops are certainly draining! However this is my only real issue. I have personally downscaled the unit cap so the game doesnt get too full and start lagging.

I have just sent a message with a list of bugs/ideas over to Jeroen(imo) and I do have to admit depending on the tone of his response i may end up leaving this mod until it is optimised.

I do think Jeroen(imo) is doing an incredible job, however I do not think what he achieves is beyond improvement and believe he should always be open to ideas and possibility of bugs he hasn't found personally. Whats funny is his YouTube channel he comes across a sound dude, but then has been completely unfairly rude on here on occasions so I guess we'll wait and see.

***UPDATE - He got back to me! And was appreciative of the feedback i gave so top stuff. I changed running my game from steam to the disk version and now dont get crashes. Ive also changed a lot of xml files for my own needs but otherwise, now i can actually play it without it crashing, the mod is pretty much flawless.

Republic at War

Mod review

Its an amazing mod, but just lacks in graphic content sometimes in space combat and units like the Arquitens-class light cruiser, or CW Era Y-wings as an advanced bomber. The one thing i can think i actually dislike strongly in this mod is the S.P.H.A.T effect, it should be more like the ROTM 3.0 projectile. This one looks quite frankly awful.

Bloody amazing mod otherwise! Well done guys!
