Work is slow - i've been focusing on making money in the past months. But the good news is i have done a lot of work on this mod since the last update. There's a lot you haven't seen, and a lot of crucial research has been done as well.

while it's impossible to see any detail in this render, It looks like you have the jacketed barrel on the lewis gun. These weren't used in the latter half of the war on foster mounts - Or rather, I've never seen it.

well, it'll be a while before it's release worthy but I doubt it will ever die. It's something I do all alone in my spare time, so the chances of it dying because of AWOL team members (which is what kills most mods) is nil

it's got a lot of content and some nice scripts but i'm not touching script again until warband's module system is stable.

Muzzle loading, Muzzle loading multiple barrel, pepperboxes, revolvers, revolving carbines, breech loaders (lever, trapdoor, break-open &c.) repeaters (lever action)

roughly in order from lowest-tier to highest. There will be a majority of weapons firing from cap and ball, that is to say, loaded from the muzzle, primed and fired - in pistol, revolver, rifle and gun form. Aside from this there will be cartridge fed weapons which will load much more quickly but require a steadier supply of ammunition.

long after you and everyone you know has died. If it comes earlier it's a lucky surprise!

OH i only just read this. I'd be more than happy to help you out as an aviation advisor and i'd be down to model some planes. I'm not as clued in as some of the crazy Aerodrome posters but, they dedicate their lives to the topic, and I think my level of knowledge could be helpful enough. I have a tonne of material including plans, photos, authentic sounds and stuff which i've used making my friends and my ww1 flight sim.

The scheme on that camel is an RNAS one. I'm not sure if that's an issue.

I haven't really played that much CoH and i though the planes might be used for bombing factories and such. Thinking again, i might be wrong. If these are mostly for targetting infantry and encampments, then camel makes sense. It still looks a little weird to have just one though - is it possible to send a small group?

tbh i dont think its a huge deal. It's not like it's impossible to fire an LMG on the move, it's just not ideal. I actually find it a bit of an immersion breaker when stuff like that is abstractly disallowed. I'm not sure what the best way to do it would be. I'm assuming units can have different accuracy? I only played a tiny bit of CoH. I suggest allow him to defend himself while standing but highly inaccurately. It'd just be dumb if he got jumped by some enemies close-up and had to painstakingly move to prone before he could even respond to them at all.

Oh yeah and, for those who will get the joke, Strictly 4 my D.I.G.G.A.Z

Linux support is one thing we're keeping maintained ourselves. If this makes it to iphone or android or PSP we will need someone else to maintain the port, we simply have too much to do already. Linux however, you can guarantee, in fact I can verify that it already works on linux. Linux builds will likely be released a week or so after PC builds once we are sure they work.

I'm pretty certain linux players will be able to fight with PC players as well... Not that that should come as any great surprise.

if someone wants to port they can contact us and we can give them the source. As far as I know, the source wont be publicised

basically, pitch/yaw/roll rates are all hardcoded standards at the moment. In the next week or so we're putting these values into the planes' flight model scripts. The physics system is only just being finalised, so we never got around to doing that til now

the sopwith camel and the sopwith triplane are two different planes. We have a camel working in-game. Both a sopwith triplane and a fokker dr.1 are on their way as well. Stay tuned for media on those.

As for the tigermoth, that isn't a priority as they were not used during the first world war. I *have* had a weird urge to model one, though, so it's not completely out of the question as a "fun" plane.

we've addressed this before, it's increasing in complexity a lot faster than we ever intended. We ourselves are focusing on the PC/Linux version for now as psp homebrew is a dying scene... But anyone who wants to take a shot at porting it will have our full support...

the source code is being given to a few selected people - it's hernan's choice whether he releases it when the game is out.
It's easy to mod new planes and maps in though, so if you want to make a flight sim for any time up until about the end of ww2 (we dont have any support for guided rockets) it should work fine

if we find someone interested in porting it to psp, the chances are the transparency will be the main thing to suffer. apart from that most things should work fine

OpenGL and SDL for rendering, devIL for texture loading, openAL for audio - the rest is Hernan

hehe, steering isnt that simple. You can move in three axis, not just two. And for "gas," in a plane you really need precise control to hold the throttle open at the exact spot you want, it's how you contol your speed. Starting and stopping like in car games will result in a stall usually. Having said that, we're rethinking the psp port unless someone steps up and wants to try to do it with our advice. The homebrew scene is really dying.
