That´s why the wars changed a lot after the long range artilleries and bombers.

I got DB-Editor (google it) then you can just change stats, abilities, projectiles, impact, everything xD
I think the best thing is to get a mod and change those files, so you don't like mess things up. (I have darthmod, make things... prettier)

I just wanted the rockets to be more scary. I finnaly found a solution: Half the squad size, increse the fire rate to like a volley per 15 seconds, just give the shrapnell a fire trail so it looks like fireworks. The DPS is not increased very much, (still about though cause they sucked), but instead you get a continuish volley.
I'm just playing Shogun 2, not very good at it yet though.
I'm not getting that game, it just don't have the diversity I want. Also I prefer the antic, mediaval, and modern age ;)
WWI total war would be awesome!
I've been waiting for them do do WW1 Total War for years. But I know they'll just remake Rome next, not that it's a bad thing.
I did edit stats and abilities of some units to WWI numbers. For example light infantry with breachloaders and 500 meters maximun range (though bad hit rate at those ranges), handgrenades and everything. I also changed the puckle gun to have a fire rate of 600 rpm, and artillery with reload time of around 15-20 seconds ;)
It turned out pretty ...interesting. Namely: charge and you'll lose a tousand men, with minimal losses on the other side. Exactly as intended. (however awesome arty means that if you don't charge you'll just shell eachother to death.) xD
Obviously one can see why they don't make such a game, solid fronts and all. But as a mod it would be awesome.

There's actually a mod that creates WW1 in Total war, but it's only for Napoleon total war Twcenter.net
I know there was one for Empire but it died, maybe they just changed game?
