Thanks Jolly Wangcore for bringing once again the light on the best of the most horrible HL mods of all time XD
Thanks Jolly Wangcore for bringing once again the light on the best of the most horrible HL mods of all time XD
No. But 100, 231 or 5000 HP means nothing in this mod XD
Impressive, very impressive,
I like there is a real story, some companions/a damsel in distress like Barnette from Azure Sheep or Diana in Delta Particles,
it could be a top HL1 mod when released.
5 or 7 maps should be enough to pinch or bite Diana, I agree
Delta Particles’ Netflix filter
USS Darkstar is the first "big" mod ever released,
but I've dug deeper in RTSL, Runthinkshootlive.com is acknowledged by his dev' (in the comments below) to be one of the first ever maps/mods ever released.
So far, it's the earliest one I've found.
This mod got deeper than I thought and is now a threat to the whole multiverse XD
HL Induction is the pinnacle example of how pre-disaster Black Mesa can be well-handled.
IMHO it's all about going further in the lore, avoiding paradoxes or retcons, providing interesting events, stories or characters.
There is so much untold stories about Black Mesa that can be interesting.
Remember also how Black Mesa - the HL1 remake - just makes you wander around listening to long discussions between scientists, etc.
And the recent example of Delta Particles show us how the player is more involved/concerned with the events if provided more context or friendly/interesting NPCs.
Dans mon souvenir, il y a l'équipe qui avait fait le mod très sympa Get a Life, et la team qui bosse sur les ambitieux Dane Chronicles et Wilson Chronicles.
Now I wonder what was the first mod ever made for GoldSrc/HL1?
Residual Agent’s unused intro which provided more depth about the plot.
Very interesting, I didn't know about this very first mod ever made for HL2.
Et au passage, un peu de chauvinisme : content qu'un français soit toujours actif sur la scène du modding Half Life :)
And that's it.
Thanks to this mod,
thanks to listening to all the (constructive) feedback from 2 years ago, for more balanced fightings, for more Xen maps with other great skyboxes, and for giving us more backstory and more time with Diana, she was a great companion to escort, Azure Sheep had its Kate, Delta Particles has its Diana...
Ending was pretty cool, too, thanks for expanding it, it gave an even more "VALVe-like" feeling.
Oh, a face reveal! Happy new year to you! The glad face of a man who can be proud of his work.
Too bad that you deleted the first full version (besides the 2023 one), I was curious how many downloads you had.
Congrat’s to all HL stuff,
And more congrat’s to THIEF The Black Parade, Garrett has also his 25 year anniversary but he still isn’t forgotten !
Beware the dawn of the Metal Age *du dum*
Well, that just tells you people have really high hopes in your project, no pressure at all :p
Overall, OpFor2 is for many of us a decade year old very promising project, it was even more frustrating when they released RED demo and we saw all that was left WIP : the floating Citadel, the Proto Combine… this project was too good to be dead and even if we had Entropy Zero 1 and 2, Through the City, as « opposing force » stuff… well, this is not the OpFor2 we’re still waiting for.
Good luck anyways.
HL Modding still alive and kickin'
No new release on naver.
You should know better because well you know you are South Korean like him XD
Thanks ! Love it or hate it, but I’m glad some people discovered this mod on my recommendation, and I’m even more happy if you liked it of course.
It was an incredible mod but not played by many… it deserves really more recognition.
Like Half-Life, Like Quake 2, like so many others in this golden 1998 year,
I'm glad no one forgot about this wonderful game (and its sequel Thief 2 the metal age).
And people will still be there for the 30th anniversary, because we never found that feeling elsewhere after all these years, did we?
25 years of Op For next winter and still no release of a remake.
I know OpFor is even harder than HL to remake because they changed everything from weapons to enemies (this is not as easy to do as a Blue Shift remake), but there are milestones that hit hard.
Can’t wait to go back save Diana one more time and witness this epic Milky Way on Xen sky
"Commander Logan" aka Colonel Quarritch in-HL-universe :D
Cut content : => fans developing HL The Core Beta in the next years!
Good luck anyways, waiting for this, whenever it'll be ready, but probably worth the wait in the end.
Interesting work after Uriel.
After 2 mods, I think I can see your "signature" : a linear and clear objective/storyline, a good mix between simple puzzles and classic fights, but the main interest is your work on sounds, maps and textures, there is an interesting recurring setting with fights on maps featuring pillars.
World Machine was more interesting than Uriel as we really felt being in a yet unknown/hidden part of Black Mesa (which is an achievement in itself after 25 years and hundred of GoldSrc mods)
Happy 25th birthday to HL1.
For this milestone, it was for me to symbolically hand over the reins to the next generation, as my 10 year old daughter discovered the game for the first time, as its true first FPS.
What amazed me is she got that unexpected 25th year update where suddenly, VALVe intro got back and the main menu changed to that WON version, I was like WTF XDD
See ya for the 30th.
I won't have time to do another playthrough of your work, sadly, byt my fellow HL YouTuber Vaelastraz (Korean VTuber) should be live streaming your mod, on my advice, this incoming week if you are interested :
He is very skillful on HL stuff - done already several hard mods.
