haha sorry, I've been super busy making the game! It should be playable when you want to try it out.
Thanks man! Yes, unfortunately my old 3D modeler became too busy to continue working on PAO late in 2015. However, I have two new 3D modelers now and we plan on doing great things with this project. I'm glad to see you are still around.
Do you guys plan on adding VOIP at any point?
He made many of the assets, but not all. Some are from the Unity Asset Store, others are from various online sources, and he made many of them.
Thanks man!
I'm glad to see that you are following this game.
We will be putting out a test build in about a month or so. We are still in the early stages of developing the game.
No problem man!
I'm actually glad that you brought that up because I didn't think about it from that perspective. Thanks for the kind words!
I see how people could get that idea.
Like I stated before, I do plan on finishing this game. I've put in at minimum 1000 hours in this project, and my 3D modeler has put in about 250 hours so we have every intention on finishing it. I think another 250-500 hours from both me and a 3D modeler would definitely finish this project. I have continued working on PAO at a slower rate since I started my new job. Last summer, I didn't have to have a job and I wasn't in college so I put in almost 10 hours a day, and my 3D modeler didn't have school so he put in a lot of time as well. Back then we were able to put out an update every day.
My 3D modeler is super busy with school and sports and hasn't worked on the game since summer ended a few months ago. I can do some on my end, but we won't be able to complete the game until he's out of school again next summer, or if I devote enough time to learn how to 3D model/animate.
With that said, I plan on launching a kickstarter for this project. If it is successful I won't have to worry about working my current job and I'll devote all my time to game development. I do plan on finishing both games if the campaign is successful. As far as the code goes, I can reuse code into both projects. The kickstarter will fund Critter Island, but it will also free up enough time for me to complete this game.
Thanks man.
I definitely want to finish PAO. Right now working my other job has been my focus and I've had a lot of stuff going on in my personal life that has prevented me from working on this game.
I'm putting PAO on hold for now, but I plan on launching a kickstarter for Critter Island very soon. If I make enough money to support myself I will work on both of the games full time.

it's just a placeholder creature for now until I get some new models made lol
thanks!
The kickstarter was going very well, however, a lot of people voiced their concerns over Nintendo shutting down the game due to the funds raised.
I would loved to have let the kickstarter continue and work on this game full time, but in the end I decided that it wasn't worth the risk of Nintendo shutting it down especially after people donated to it's development.
I understand the risks you have listed. The game itself won't be sold or use a cash system in any way. This is more of a donation system to help fund development.
If Nintendo does send us a cease and desist letter I will comply by shutting down everything that I have in regards to the game. However, if that does happen I plan on releasing the project files and source code. At that point everyone will have access to it, and another team can pick up where I left off if they like. Pokemon World Online got a C&D letter I think around 2012, and some guys from Sweden were able to continue the project due to laws in Sweden that protected them. Last time I checked they are still up and running with a strong community.
Yeah, that was the original plan, however I got loaded down from my job and college and I haven't had time to work on it as much as I want to.
If any of you are programmers or 3D modelers please send me a message.
Hello all!
I'm currently working full time and I'm in college so I have very little spare time to work on the game. Also, my 3D modeler is in school and he is also on a sports team so his free time is limited as well.
However, I plan on quitting my job in January and after that I will start working on the game every day like I did over this past summer. Parker, the 3D modeler, will still be busy so I will need to add another 3D modeler to the team if any of you are interested in joining.

It will be either 10/1/15, or 11/1/15 depending on how much progress we make in the next month.
Thanks man!
I hope you can get into the next stress test!
Yes, the stress test is over, but we will hold another in a month or so.
Yes, in Pewter city there was a gym where you could fight Brock and his Onix.
Stress Test Weekend (9/4/15-9/6/15) is now over! I want to thank everyone who participated in the event. We gathered a lot of value information in regards to our server structure and net code.
For the next stress test will we roll out 4-6 different servers in different locations around the world. You can expect the next test in 1-2 months, and I will announce it a few weeks in advance.
Last, thanks to everyone who signed up for the stress test and provided valuable information on the forums. Those who signed up for the stress test on the forums before 9/4/15 will be rewarded with in game content when the game is fully released!
hello Bartyz! The stress test weekend is now over and we will no longer have the server up for public use. We will have another in a few weeks with a lot more features.
Yes, sorry. I was working on updates last night. It is back up now.
