Definitely the best remake of Half-Life ever. Although based on Half-Life: Source in some way, It is very hard work. I mean when You're making your own project it's much easier. You have no references to copy, no levels to remake. You're free to create. But If You're on remake of something - It's like a cell in jail. For example You cannot Your custom characters, You cannot skip some models or maps. Everything must be exactly like in Original plus much better. And In this case it is - Black Mesa's the best remake of Half-Life!

According to smooth shadows, HDR and SkyBox, it is Source Engine. (X-Ray supports Parallax/Displacement Mapping, Source Engine not) .. Moreover You may add some additional height maps and specular maps. Also you may include texture (VMT, not VTF) "swapping" for "wet surfaces simulation" ..
