Gekokujo

Mod review

A fantastic mod with excellent attention to detail. The campaign has a high rate of replayability; "how will I start out this time?" "where shall I head to first" - the map is huge and there is such a wide variety of units that a play through will never be the same twice.

Not only is playing the mod a great experience, it's 100% moddable (a moddable mod!) with the release of the source code and it's assets being open source. Kudos to Phlpp for allowing the community to make use of his hard work!

A Clash of Kings (Game of Thrones)

Mod review

The mod is buggy, it frequently crashes. Despite all of the content, it still feels like a rushed (possibly alpha) product. Trying to make suggestions, give constructive criticism, or communicate with the developer is impossible owing to his childish antiques and contempt for the mod's player-base.

It's a shame really, this mod had potential, but it's just not worth your time anymore.

If you are looking for a fantastic Song of Ice and Fire experience, then I can highly recommend Produno's "A World of Ice and Fire" mod (link at the end). Despite being in a stage of testing and early development it already shows far greater commitment from it's developers, a wealth of content, and a lot of potential.
