Not an error that matters -- need more to go on, such as what else appears before that, both in the console and in the game.

Not at the moment, since the game relies heavily on Lua.
Whitelisting and knowing your users is the go-to method of prevention for now.
I may be mistaken, but the Desura build hasn't changed since it's update for the Steam release. Most I can recommend is try the Steam build for the latest optimizations, until it's stable enough to be moved to Desura.
Nevermind -- I'll follow up with you in your thread, here: Indiedb.com
Open the sh file and change zombie.core.LaunchDialog to zombie.gameStates.MainScreenState
What distro are you running, iamnan1?
Unfortunately, Desura is an older build of the game. To get the most recent updates and fixes, it's necessary to use Steam.
Will check the script used in the Desura build of the game, but it should be fully functional. Only the Steam version of the game includes the (sometimes) troublesome launcher -- will reply shortly.
If you did a fresh install of Mavericks rather than an upgrade, it's possible you need to install Java.
Epic Reply To fail. Anyway:
java is included on Windows systems. Those on Linux will have to install it.

Assuming you know your way around the SH file, change zombie.ZombiodLauncher to zombie.gameStates.MainScreenState
Online multiplayer is planned; an experimental version of splitscreen local multiplayer is available right now, but is rather buggy.
Controllers are experimental and buggy, unfortunately.
What options are you changing?
No, PM me your desired username for TheInideStone here, on Desura. =D Then I can pul up your account details.
Sorry for the trouble then. Hopefully it'll be resolved when the launcher is fixed.

If you're playing the latest build for Desura (17), you may want to look at installing the Steam version of the game (21). You'll find your Steam key in your Desura Collection through the Keys link.
Try running it in compatibility mode through Desura. If this doesn't help, delete the contents of us;ername%\zomboid (C:\users\EG\Zomboid) and/or try running the game from one of the bats found in the ProjectZomboid installation folder -- this should allow you to get the error code generated by the game.
Most likely requires bypassing the launcher by changing zombie.core.LaunchDialog to zombie.gameStates.MainScreenState within the script -- you might have more luck with the Steam build of the game, however.
PM me your username for the TIS forum and I'll take a look.
In this case, it's necessary to ensure good performance for everyone. Too little is being done by the GPU and too much is being done by the CPU -- by going to 3D things like sorting tiles to avoid overlapping geometry ceases to be a bottleneck.
You can find it under Collections in the Options column.
Split-screen play with a controller is currently semi-supported (more of a proof of concept); online multiplayer is planned for the future.
It sounds as though you might not have Java installed. Come over to the forums here or at Theindiestone.com
It should install through the Desura client, if downloaded from here. Otherwise, you extract the files with a program like WinRar or 7zip and click on the ProjectZomboid bat file.
The demo is currently out of date and will be replaced in the near future; I believe you can still download it through the Desura client, however?
Download the game from here: Indiedb.com
If you could post in Theindiestone.com or over in the forum, we can work through it.
Note, though, that Steam builds are currently unstable.
